The Nationalist Party (Partido Nacionalista, PN) was a Panamanian small radical nationalist , personalistic political party. The Nationalist Party was created in 1961 by Aquilino Boyd prior to the 1964 elections after he had lost control of the Third Nationalist Party. Aquilino Edgardo Boyd de la Guardia, a member of one of the old ruling families and oligarch, he served as foreign minister of Panama (1956–58), permanent representative to the United Nations (1962–76), member of National Assembly for five terms (1948–52, 1956–60, 1960–64, 1964–68, 1968–69), President of the National Assembly (1949). He was one of leaders of the National Patriotic Coalition, in 1959 founded the Third Nationalist Party. In 1964 PN allied with the National Opposition Union UNO) and its candidate Marco Aurelio Robles. The PN was abolished by the Electoral Tribunal in 1964. Aquilino Edgardo Boyd de la Guardia (March 30, 1921 in Panama – September 4, 2004 in Panama City, Panama) was a Panamanian politician, diplomat and lawyer. Aquilino Boyd was born in 1921 in Panamá. He married Dora Brin. He studied in La Salle, Panama City, Holy Cross College, US, University de la Habana and University of Panama. Aquilino Boyd, a member of one of the old ruling families and oligarch, he served as foreign minister of Panama (1956–58), permanent representative to the United Nations (1962–76), member of National Assembly for five terms (1948–52, 1956–60, 1960–64, 1964–68, 1968–69), president of the National Assembly (1949). Third Nationalist Party
The Third Nationalist Party (in Spanish: ''Tercer Partido Nacionalista'', TPN) was a Panamanian conservative, radical nationalist political party. The Third Nationalist Party was founded in 1959 by Aquilino Edgardo Boyd de la Guardia (a member of the old ruling families and oligarch) and Gilberto Arias Guardia (son of the former President Harmodio Arias Madrid and nephew of the former President Arnulfo Arias ). The National Patriotic Coalition (in Spanish: ''Coalición Patriótica Nacional'', CPN) was a Panamanian conservative nationalist political party. It was founded in advance of the election of 1952 to support the presidential aspirations of Colonel José Antonio Remón Cantera, head of the Military of Panama, National Police. National Opposition Union ( es, Unión Nacional Opositora, UNO) was a Nicaraguan wide-range coalition of opposition parties formed to oppose president Daniel Ortega's Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) in the 1990 election. Marco Aurelio Robles Méndez (8 November 1905, in Aguadulce – 14 April 1990, in Miami) was President of Panama from October 1, 1964 to September 30, 1968. He studied at the University of Panama and at the Sorbonne. Before his presidency, he served on diplomatic missions in France and United Kingdom and also as Minister of Justice (1960–1964).
