NSB Night Train
Night trains of Norway (Norwegian: Nattog) are night sleeping car services provided by three different operators on four routes; Vy on Oslo - Bergen (Bergen Line), Go-Ahead Norge on Oslo - Stavanger (Sørland Line), and SJ Norge on Oslo - Trondheim (Dovre Line) and Trondheim - Bodø (the Nordland Line). All services are provided using WLAB-2 sleeping cars. El 18 locomotives with Class 7 cars are used on the Bergen and Sørland Lines, El 18 and Class 5 cars on the Dovre Line, while the service on the Nordland Line is provided using Di 4 engines with Class 5 cars. All night trains offer both sleeper cars with closed apartments with one or two beds in addition to regular sitting cars with individual seats in an open configuration. NSB El 18
NSB El 18 is a class of 22 electric locomotives built by Adtranz and Swiss Locomotive & Machine Works (SLM) for the Norwegian State Railways (NSB). The class is a modification of the Swiss Federal Railways Re 460 locomotive and built at Adtranz Strømmen in 1996 and 1997. The class remains the only mainline electric locomotive used by NSB, and is predominantly used on some intercity services and all night trains on the Bergen Line, Dovre Line and Sørland Line, as well as some regional trains. Røros Line
The Røros Line ( no, Rørosbanen) is a railway line which runs through the districts of Hedmarken, Østerdalen and Gauldalen in Innlandet and Trøndelag, Norway. The line branches off from the Dovre Line at Hamar Station and runs a more easterly route to Støren Station, where the two lines meet again. The Røros Line also intersects with the Solør Line at Elverum Station. The single track, standard gauge line lacks electrification and only has centralized traffic control south of Røros Station. Rauma Line
The Rauma Line ( no, Raumabanen) is a long railway between the town of Åndalsnes (in Rauma Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county), and the village of Dombås (in Dovre Municipality in Oppland county), in Norway. Running down the Romsdalen valley, the line opened between 1921 and 1924 as a branch of the Dovre Line, which connects to the cities of Oslo and Trondheim. Originally intended as the first stage to connect Ålesund, and possibly also Molde and Kristiansund, no extensions have ever been realized. The unelectrified line is served four times daily with Norwegian State Railways' Class 93, although in the summer the service only operates from Åndalsnes to Bjorli as a tourist service. is a town in Rauma Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. Åndalsnes is in the administrative center of Rauma Municipality. It is located along the Isfjorden, at the mouth of the river Rauma, at the north end of the Romsdalen valley. Vygruppen, branded as Vy, is a government-owned railway company which operates most passenger train services and many bus services in Norway. The company is owned by the Norwegian Ministry of Transport. Its sub-brands include Vy Buss coach services, CargoNet freight trains and the Swedish train transport company Tågkompaniet. NSB Di 4 is a class of five diesel-electric locomotives built by Henschel for the Norwegian State Railways (NSB). Delivered in 1981, the class is used to haul passenger trains on the Nordland Line and are since 2001 the only revenue diesel locomotives used by NSB. The locomotives had electric components from Brown, Boveri & Cie and a General Motors Electro-Motive Division 16-645E prime mover. This gives a power output of and a starting tractive effort of . The locomotives were ordered in the late 1970s as a supplement and later replacement of the Di 3. The class is technically similar to Denmark's DSB Class ME; it was planned to have commonalities with NSB's electric El 17 locomotives, but this was scrapped.
