Nyhavn 31 is a listed property overlooking the Nyhavn canal in central Copenhagen, Denmark. History 17th and 18th centuries The property was listed in Copenhagen's first cadastre of 1689 as No. 11 in St. Ann's East Quarter. It was owned by skipper Mikkel Jensen at that time. The present building on the site was constructed with two storeys for skipper Thomas Andersen between 1691 and 1714. The property was listed in the new cadastre of 1756 as No. 16 in St. Ann's East Quarter and was owned by skipper Peder Løg at that time. The wealthy merchant Andreas Bodenhoff acquired the property in 1770 and lived there until his death in 1794. At the time of the 1787 census, he lived there with his son Andreas, his daughter Giertrud, the clerks Conrath Ditlew Hopman (') and Christian Lund ('), three caretakers and two maids. 19th century The next owner was wholesaler Edvard Gram (1769-1858). Stretching from Kongens Nytorv to the harbour front just south of the Royal Playhouse, it is lined by brightly coloured 17th and early 18th century townhouses and bars, cafes and restaurants. Kongens Nytorv
Kongens Nytorv ( lit. "The King's New Square") is a public square in Copenhagen, Denmark, centrally located at the end of the pedestrian street Strøget. The largest square of the city, it was laid out by Christian V in 1670 in connection with a major extension of the fortified city, and has an equestrian statue of him at its centre. Store Kongensgade 81 is a Neoclassical architecture, Neoclassical property situated in Store Kongensgade between Frederiksgade and Hindegade, in Copenhagen, Denmark. The complex consists of a Neoclassical architecture, Neoclassical residential building from the 1780s fronting the street and a number of somewhat older secondary wings, surrounding two consecutive courtyards, on its rear. Peter Christian Knudtzon
Peter Christian Knudtzon (19 March 1789–17 November 1864) was a Danish businessman and ship-owner. He was one of the largest traders in Iceland in the middle of the 19th century. He owned Amaliegade 14 in Copenhagen. He was the father of Governor of the Bank of Denmark . Early life and family background Knudtzon was born on 19 March 1789 in Kristiansund, Norway, the son of merchant Nicolay Heinrich Knudtzon (1751–1842) and Janicke Fasting (1762–1848).
