Nyelandsvej
Nyelandsvej is a street in the Frederiksberg district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It runs from Falkoner Allé in the southeast to a roundabout at the north end of Dalgas Boulevard in the northwest. The more urban, eastern part of the street, between Falkoner Allé and Nordre Fasanvej, separates an area with Copenhagen Business School's Solbjerg Campus and Frederiksberg Centret to the south from the Svømmehal Quarter to the north. The western part of the street is passes the multi-purpose venue Keddelhallen and Frederiksberg Hospital before entering an area with Single-family detached homes. History Nyelandsvej was established in 1883-84 and received its name on 17 April 1884. It is named for Stephan Peter Nyeland (1793-1875), provisionmaster (proviantforvalter) at the Naval Administration (Søetaten), who from 1837 to 1875 owned a country estate on Falkonér Allé on which part of Nyelandsvej, Langelandsvej and Bentzonsvej were built. Metropolitan University College
The Metropolitan University College ( da, Professionshøjskolen Metropol), also referred to as Metropolitan UC or MUC, is a university college offering a range of bachelor's degree and academy profession degree programmes in Copenhagen, Denmark. All programmes are taught in Danish except for a bachelor's degree in Global Nutrition and Health. A range of courses and modules in English are available to exchange students. The Metropolitan UC is organized in two faculties with a total of nine departments. Its activities are spread out on a number of sites, in Nørrebro, Frederiksberg, and central Copenhagen. Godthaab Church, Copenhagen
Godthaab Church is a Church of Denmark parish church situated on Nyelandsvej in the northern part of the Frederiksberg district of Copenhagen, Denmark. Godthaab Parish takes its name from Godthaabsvej, the principal artery of the area. History Classen Terraces and their church Godthaab Church traces its history back to 1866 when the charitable foundation Det Classenske Fideicommis acquired a 3 hectares piece of land at the site from the Sindshvile estate. This was done to build residences for indigent workers in the city after the 1853 Copenhagen cholera outbreak had highlighted the dismal living conditions for this part of the population. From 1866 to 1881 the foundation constructed 24 terraces with a total of 378 residences. They were built in yellow brick in two storeys to designs by Vilhelm Tvede. Frederiksberg Incineration Plant
Frederiksberg Incineration Plant is a defunct incineration plant which was built in 1903 in the Frederiksberg district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It was located at Nyelandsvej, next to Frederiksberg Hospital, just south-west of the intersection of Godthåbsvej and Nordre Fasanvej. The buildings complex now houses Keddelhallen, a venue for cultural and sports activities owned by Frederiksberg Municipality. History In the late 19th century, Frederiksberg Municipality struggled with disposing of trash from its fast-growing population. Due to the lack of tips in the small independent municipality, household trash from the some 75,000 inhabitants accumulated and increasingly constituted a health hazard. Frederiksberg Hospital
Frederiksberg Hospital is a medium-sized government-owned general hospital located in Frederiksberg, Denmark. It has 380 beds (2005) and an emergency department. The hospital is a teaching hospital for medical students from Copenhagen University. History The hospital was inaugurated 1903 as a replacement for the city's older hospital that had become too small. During World War II, the German occupying power seized part of the hospital, the so-called ''tyske lazaret på Nyelandsvej'', where a number of wounded members of the resistance died in German custody. The hospital grew with the city until 1970 where it housed 1,000 beds. Since then, it has become more specialized and as a result, the number of beds has decreased. Københavns Mælkeforsyning was a Danish dairy products company based in Copenhagen, Denmark. History Kjøbenhavns Mælkeforsyning was founded as a milk processing and distribution company in 1878 by Gunni Busck and Erhard Frederiksen. Busck was already the owner of the Scandinavian Preserved Butter Company as well as Slagelse Dairy. Frederiksen was the first managing director of the company but was after approximately one year succeeded by Busck. Supreme court attorney Herman Barclay Halkier was a board member of the new company and Peter Ludvig Panum was responsible for quality control of the milk. Gentofte () is a district of Gentofte Municipality in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. Major landmarks include Gentofte Town Hall, Gentofte Hospital and Gentofte Church. Gentofte Lake with surrounding parkland and nature reserves form the most important greenspace. Geography Gentofte is roughly bounded by Lyngbyvej to the west, the S-train line to Hillerød to the northeast, Bernstorffsvej to the east and Kildegårdsvej to the south.
