Nox Guni
Nokusingaperi Guni alias Nox, is a Zimbabwean musician, performing artist, songwriter and producer based in South Africa. He is renowned for the musical movement in Zimbabwe of the early 2000s dubbed Urban Grooves. Background Born Enock Guni on the 6th of September 1983 in Zaka, Masvingo in Zimbabwe, he made his debut as Nox with his first major hit “Iwe Maria” in 2002. He started his musical career in the same year when he was spotted by Roy and Royce, a celebrated duo at the time. His entry onto the music arena was through participation with SHAPE Zimbabwe projects leading to his recording of the first track “Iwe Maria”. He studied Marketing with the Midlands State University. Nox released his first full album title “Wandipengesa” in 2004 and has had several radio hits in his career which include ''Ndinonyara'', ''Takafitana'', ''WhatsApp'', ''Uchandifunga'', ''Melody''. Masvingo
Masvingo is a city in south-eastern Zimbabwe and the capital of Masvingo Province. The city is situated close to Great Zimbabwe, the national monument from which the country takes its name and close to Lake Mutirikwi, its recreational park, the Kyle dam and the Kyle National Reserve where there are many different animal species. It is mostly populated by the Karanga people who form the biggest branch of the various Shona tribes in Zimbabwe. History The city was known as Fort Victoria until 1982, when its name was briefly changed to Nyanda, after a mountain about 10 kilometres south of the town, on the Masvingo to Beitbridge Road. That led to protests, because "nyanda" means "one who has lice", and public sentiment was that Masvingo would be more reflective of the history of the city. Midlands State University is a government owned university in Zimbabwe. The university has 9 faculties (Agriculture, Arts, Commerce, Education, Engineering, Law, Science, Social Sciences and Medicine) offering a wide variety of courses and many specialist programmes. DJ Tira
Mthokozisi Khathi (born August 24, 1976), professionally known by his stage name DJ Tira, is a South African DJ, record producer and Kwaito artist. He helped popularize the Gqom music genre. Khathi won the Smirnoff SA DJ Knockout competition in 2000 and released the compilation album ''Real Makoya'' in 2001. He is a member of the South African musical group, Durbans Finest. Tira signed a record deal with Kalawa Jazmee in 2005 and established his own record label Afrotaiment in 2007. His debut album ''Ezase Afro Vol:1'' (2008), was a commercial success. Roy And Royce
Roy and Royce is the Zimbabwean twin singing duo of Roy and Royce Gomo. They gained popularity during the Urban Grooves movement of Zimbabwe, and they have recorded under Galaxy Entertainment and their own label, Twin Peaks Recordings. The twins took music lessons from form 1-4 at Gokomere High School and later recorded at Old International radio. They started off as a trio with their friend, Misheck Chikaka, in a group called ROMIRO. It was short-lived, however, and the twins and Chikaka went their separate ways. The pair kicked off their music career with their hit "Handirege" in 2002, immediately followed by "Zuva Rangu". Both tracks reached number 1 on Zimbabwean music charts.
