Now, Always, Never
Now, Always, Never is the debut studio album by Bosnian alternative rock band Sikter. It was released on 21 November 2000 by Fis club Bock in Bosnia and Herzegovina and The Orchard in Europe and the United States. Album was recorded during the summer 1998 in Pavarotti Music Centre, Mostar. Producers of album were frontman of the band Enes Zlatar, Austrian engineer Dietz Tinhof and English musician Brian Eno. Album is a fusion of a few genres: alternative rock, funk, alternative metal and soul. Sikter
Sikter is a Bosnian alternative rock band from Sarajevo. The band was formed in 1990 as a punk rock project of a few students, but became one of the most successful Bosnian rock bands. The name of the band is translated as ''Buzz Off''! From 1990 they changed line-ups many times, as well as musical styles. Their first songs were parodies of Yugoslavian pop songs. Sikter became the first band from Bosnia and Herzegovina whose video clip ''Pain In Brain'' was broadcast on MTV for several months. They recorded four albums: ''Now, Always, Never'' in 2000, ''Queen of the Disco'' in 2002, '' My Music'' in 2005 and '' Ego Trip'' in 2009. ''MSN Music'' was a part of MSN's web services. It delivered music news, music videos, spotlights on new music, artist information, and live performances of artists. The website also served as a digital music store from 2004 to 2008. History In 2004, Microsoft created an MSN Music download store to compete with Apple's iTunes Music Store, though its sales in comparison were negligible. The store utilized Microsoft's Windows Media Player application and proprietary Windows Media Format files (protected .wma files). Faris Arapović
Faris Arapović (1970 – 18 September 2019) was a Bosnian drummer. He was widely known as a drummer of Sarajevo-based rock bands Zabranjeno Pušenje and Sikter. Also, he was a founder of Sikter. Career Arapović joined a Sarajevo-based rock band Zabranjeno Pušenje in 1986, after their drummer Predrag Rakić left. As a drummer, he performed on their two studio albums: ''Pozdrav iz zemlje Safari'' (1987) and ''Male priče o velikoj ljubavi'' (1989). In early 1990, he left the band with some other members. In 1990, Arapović founded Sarajevo-based alternative rock band Sikter. Arapović performed on their first two studio albums: ''Now, Always, Never'' (2000) and '' Queen of the Disco'' (2002). Soul Music
Soul music is a popular music genre that originated in the African American community throughout the United States in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It has its roots in African-American gospel music and rhythm and blues. Soul music became popular for dancing and listening, where U.S. record labels such as Motown, Atlantic and Stax were influential during the Civil Rights Movement. Alternative Metal
Alternative metal (also known as alt-metal) is a genre of heavy metal music that combines heavy metal with influences from alternative rock and other genres not normally associated with metal. Funk
Funk is a music genre that originated in African Americans, African American communities in the mid-1960s when musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of various music genres that were popular among African Americans in the mid-20th century. It de-emphasizes melody and chord progressions and focuses on a strong rhythmic groove (music), groove of a bassline played by an electric bassist and a drum part played by a drum kit, percussionist, often at slower tempos than other popular music. Alternative Rock
Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Pavarotti Music Centre
Pavarotti Music Centre ( Croatian and Bosnian: ''Muzički centar Pavarotti'') is a non-profit arts institution located in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was opened on 21 December 1997 and its premises are located in a former primary school. It was funded entirely by War Child thanks to a number of concerts organized by Luciano Pavarotti, Brian Eno, members of U2 and other artists. The center provides music education for young people and other services, such as workshops, dance classes, and theatre performances. The Centre is housed within a building constructed in 1908 during the Austrian-Hungarian period according to the project of architect D. Knezic.
