Norris, Ontario
Algoma District is a Census divisions of Ontario, district and Census divisions of Canada, census division in Northeastern Ontario in the Canadian province of Ontario. The name was created by an American ethnologist, Henry Schoolcraft, Henry Rowe Schoolcraft (1793-1864), who was appointed Indian agent to the Ojibwe in Sault Ste. Marie region in 1822. "Al" is derived from Algonquin, while "goma" is a variant of gomee, meaning lake or water. Algoma District has shoreline along Lake Superior and Lake Huron. It has an international border crossing to the American state of Michigan, at Sault Ste. Marie. Historically, it was known for its lumber and mining industries. Lake Norris
Lake Norris is an undeveloped fresh water lake in Paisley, Lake County, Florida. It has an area of . It is located roughly south of Johnson's Corner in Paisley. The north shore is occupied by Camp La-No-Che, a local Boy Scout camp. The southern shore exits to Blackwater Creek. The southeastern shore has roughly 11 private residences. The rest of the shoreline is primarily owned by St. Johns River Water Management District and used as scrub brush drainage for the aquifer. There is no public access or public boating ramp on the lake. The local ecosystem is part of the Ocala National Forest. The Norris Locomotive Works was a steam locomotive manufacturing company based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that produced nearly one thousand railroad engines between 1832 and 1866. It was the dominant American locomotive producer during most of that period, as well as the first major exporter of American locomotives, selling its popular 4-2-0 engines to railways in Europe and building the first locomotive used in South America. The Norisring is a street circuit in Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany. Originally established as a motorcycle racing venue in 1947 and named in a 1950 competition to win a light motorcycle, the track became known as a sports car racing venue in the 1970s. Hampstead Norreys (alternatively spelt ''Hampstead Norris'' as it is pronounced) is a village and civil parish in Berkshire, England. It is centred on the small tributary the River Pang, north of Newbury. Amenities Hampstead Norreys was awarded Berkshire's best-kept village in 1979. As well as the nucleus of Hampstead Norreys, the parish includes the hamlets or localities of Bothampstead, Eling and Wyld Court. The geothermal areas of Yellowstone include several geyser basins in Yellowstone National Park as well as other geothermal features such as hot springs, mud pots, and fumaroles. Norris Dam
Norris Dam is a hydroelectric and flood control structure located on the Clinch River in Anderson County and Campbell County, Tennessee, United States. The dam was the first major project for the Tennessee Valley Authority, which had been created in 1933 to bring economic development to the region and control the rampant flooding that had long plagued the Tennessee Valley. The dam was named in honor of Nebraska Senator George Norris (1861–1944), a longtime supporter of government-owned utilities in general, and supporter of TVA in particular. The infrastructure project was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. Norris Dam is a straight concrete gravity-type dam. The dam is 1860 feet (570 m) long and 265 feet (81 m) high.
