Nordøyan Lighthouse
Nordøyan Lighthouse () is a coastal lighthouse in Nærøysund Municipality in Trøndelag, Norway. It was established in 1890 and automated in 1989. The light is powered on all year except from May 12 until July 25 due to the midnight sun in this region. Nordøyan Lighthouse stands on the islet of Surenøy in the Nordøyan islands, north of the Foldafjord. The lighthouse tower is tall, and the light at the top of the tower is located above sea level. Trøndelag

Nærøysund is a List of municipalities of Norway, municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the Traditional districts of Norway, traditional district of Namdalen. The municipality was established on 1 January 2020 after the merger of the old Vikna Municipality and Nærøy Municipality. Midnight sun, also known as polar day, is a natural phenomenon that occurs in the summer months in places north of the Arctic Circle or south of the Antarctic Circle, when the Sun remains visible at the local midnight. When midnight sun is seen in the Arctic, the Sun appears to move from left to right. In Antarctica, the equivalent apparent motion is from right to left. Nordøyan
Nordøyan is an archipelago and abandoned fishing village in Nærøysund Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The island group is located at the western end of the Folda fjord, about to the southwest of the island of Ytter-Vikna and about to the northwest of the Sør-Gjæslingan islands. Nordøyan has been the site of a fishing village dating back to the 16th century, but since 1919, has not had any permanent residents. The homes on Nordøyan are now mostly used as holiday cottages. History The oldest record of activity on the islands dates to 1597 when it was mentioned in records as one of the six fishing villages in the prestegjeld of Nærøy. Folda, Trøndelag
Folda is a firth and a fjord in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located within Flatanger Municipality, Namsos Municipality, and Nærøysund Municipality. The large wide firth is about long which then narrows into a fjord which is about long. The narrower fjord part of Folda is often called the ''Foldfjorden'' or ''Innerfolda''. Most of the fjord is very narrow, some places with steep cliffs. It has the largest length to width factor among Norway's fjords. The fjord is crossed by the Norwegian County Road 17 road using the Folda Bridge at the village of Foldereid. Spruce forests cover most areas around the fjord. Lighthouses In Norway
The coast of Norway is long and there have been a total of 212 lighthouses along it, but no more than 154 have ever been operational at the same time. The first, Lindesnes Lighthouse, opened in 1655; the newest Lighthouse, Anda Lighthouse, was finished in 1932. The first lighthouses were private operations, but in 1821 the government made the Channel and Harbor Inspector responsible for lighthouses in Norway. A dedicated Lighthouse Administration was set up in 1841. The lighthouses are today mostly automated and since 1974, run by the Norwegian Coastal Administration. Two lightvessels had been operated along the Norwegian coast.
