Nordhavn Station
Nordhavn station is a commuter rail and rapid transit railway station in Copenhagen, Denmark. The station serves the eastern part of the district of Østerbro, as well as the harbour area of Nordhavn. The station is by the lines A, H, B, C, and E of the Copenhagen S-train network and line M4 of the Copenhagen Metro network. The S-train station opened in 1934, and the metro station opened in 2020. History Nordhavn station was opened on 15 May 1934 simultaneously with the opening of the S-train service on the Boulevard Line between Østerport station and Copenhagen Central Station also known as ''Røret'' (literally: ''the tube''). In 2006 the station was rebuilt. The existing shop and DSB ticket office were merged into a new 7-Eleven shop that is located just inside the station entrance. See also: List of Copenhagen S-train lines There are 86 stations that are operated in normal operation on the Copenhagen S-train, an urban rail network which serves the Copenhagen metropolitan area in Denmark. The stations are located on six suburban radial routes - A, B, Bx, C, E, H, and a ring line ( F). Forty-six are elevated, twenty-one are street level, fifteen are below street, four have different levels and one is underground. Of the 84 stations, are 32 located inside the four one-figured ticket fare zones, and another 35 stations are located within the Copenhagen Urban area. 17 stations can be said to be located in suburbs.According to the Danish map book "Kraks kort- København & Omergn 2011" ("Krak's Maps Copenhagen & surroundings 2011"), S-train section, p. 324-325, Lines E and H do not operate during weekends and nights. C (S-train)
C is a service on the S-train network in Copenhagen. It serves the Klampenborg radial and the inner part of the Frederikssund radial, and also reinforces service on the outer part of the Frederikssund radial in high-traffic period. Service C is one of the base services on the network, running between Ballerup and Klampenborg every 20 minutes from about 5:00 to 1:00 every day. Between about 6:00 to 19:00 on Monday to Saturday it runs every 10 minutes, and in this period half of the trains continue from Ballerup to Frederikssund. On Friday and Saturday nights there is also a 30 minutes service throughout the night. History The C service was created in 1950 when the service between Ballerup and Holte (see service B) was split into two in order to make the timetable correspond better in Vanløse. S-train (Copenhagen) Stations
The S-Bahn is the name of hybrid urban-suburban rail systems serving a metropolitan region in German-speaking countries. Some of the larger S-Bahn systems provide service similar to rapid transit systems, while smaller ones often resemble commuter or even regional rail. Rail Transport In Denmark
The rail transport system in Denmark consists of 2,633 km of railway lines, of which the Copenhagen S-train network, the main line Helsingør-Copenhagen-Padborg (at the German border), and the Lunderskov-Esbjerg line are electrified. Most traffic is passenger trains, although there is considerable transit goods traffic between Sweden and Germany. Maintenance work on most Danish railway lines is done by Banedanmark, a state-owned company that also allocates tracks for train operators. The majority of passenger trains are operated by DSB, with Arriva and Nordjyske Jernbaner operating on some lines in Jutland. Goods transport is mainly performed by DB Schenker Rail, although other operators take care of a significant portion of the non-transit traffic. Boulevard Line
The Boulevard Line ( da, Boulevardbanen) is a long partly underground railway between Copenhagen Central Station and Østerport Station in Copenhagen, Denmark. The quadruple track railway carries today one dual track for the Copenhagen S-train system and another dual track for the mainline railway and regional trains. The line has two intermediate stations, Vesterport Station and Nørreport Station. It continues above ground to Nordhavn station and at Svanemøllen station the tracks separate towards either Ryparken station or Hellerup station. Dybbølsbro station is also located along this railway, located just a bit south of Copenhagen Central. Out of the four main S-train branches, three follow this path, between Dybbølsbro and Svanemøllen (with at least four tracks). Only at Copenhagen Central, Nørreport and Østerport do all trains stop. The Copenhagen Metro ( da, Københavns Metro, ) is a 24/7 rapid transit system in Copenhagen, Denmark, serving the municipalities of Copenhagen, Frederiksberg, and Tårnby.
