Noah Rod
Noah Rod (born 7 June 1996) is a Swiss professional ice hockey right winger who currently serves as captain of Genève-Servette HC of the National League (NL). Rod was selected by the Sharks in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Rod made his National League A debut playing with Genève-Servette HC during the 2013–14 NLA season, signing a one-year contract. In 2014, he was selected by the San Jose Sharks in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. On 5 October 2016, Rod agreed to a five-year contract extension with Geneva with an NHL-out clause. At the conclusion of Genève-Servette's 2016–17 season after a first round sweep in the post-season, Rod used his out-clause in signing a three-year entry-level contract with the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League on 23 March 2017. Genève-Servette HC
The Genève-Servette HC (also called Servette or GSHC) is a professional ice hockey club based in Geneva, Switzerland and competing in the National League (NL), the top tier of the Swiss hockey league system. The team plays their home games at the Patinoire des Vernets, which has a seating capacity of 7,135. The team is currently the oldest team in the NL, being founded in 1905. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. A goal awards one point to the team attacking the goal scored upon, regardless of which team the player who actually deflected the puck into the goal belongs to (see also own goal). HC Fribourg-Gottéron
HC Fribourg-Gottéron is a professional ice hockey team based in Fribourg, Switzerland, which competes in the National League (NL). The team is the sixth most attended team in Switzerland for the 2015/16 season with 6,156 spectators. History The club was originally started as HC Gottéron by the citizens of the town of Auge in 1938. They competed on an outdoor rink, most notably at ''Les Augustins'', until 1982 when Patinoire St-Léonard was constructed. In 1980, the name ''HC Fribourg-Gottéron'' was adopted upon promotion into the National League (NL). 2019 IIHF World Championship
The 2019 IIHF World Championship was hosted from 10 to 26 May 2019 by Slovakia. It was the second time that Slovakia has hosted the event as an independent country, as was the case in 2011. The host cities were Bratislava and Košice, as announced by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) on 15 May 2015 in Prague, Czech Republic. Finland won their third title by defeating Canada in the final. The Finns had 18 first-timers for the 2019 IIHF World Championship and were widely regarded as an outsider to win any medal at all.
