Nkwenkwe Nkomo
Nkwenkwe Nkomo of South Africa is the group deputy chairman of Draftfcb, FCB SA, South Africa's largest marketing communication group, and chairperson of the Advertising Standards Authority (South Africa), Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) of South Africa. He also served as one of 12 elected volunteer members of the World Scout Committee, the main executive body of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. As an anti-apartheid student activist in the 1970s, he was one of the so-called "South African Students' Organisation, SASO nine" imprisoned on Robben Island for six years. Nkomo speaks nine South African languages. "That came through living in the township, not through a formal program," says Nkomo. A Scout hall (also Scout hut, Scout den or Scout headquarters) is a building owned or rented and used as a meeting place by a Scout Group. General description A Scout hall typically consists of one or more large rooms which are used for games and Scouting activities, and may also include smaller rooms for committee meetings, storage of camping equipment and a kitchen. When not being used for Scouting, Scout halls are often hired to other community groups, in a similar way to a village hall or community centre. If the Scout hall consists of several large rooms, the various sections can have their own large room. Rooms for younger sections, such as Beaver Scouts, Rainbow Guides, Cub Scouts and Brownie Guides, are decorated with pictures and objects from their theme. Cub Scout
Cub Scouts, Cubs or Wolf Cubs are programs associated with Scouting for young children usually between 7 and 12, depending on the organization to which they belong. A participant in the program is called a Cub. A group of Cubs is called a 'Pack'. The Wolf Cub program was originated by The Boy Scouts Association in the United Kingdom in 1916 to provide a program for boys who were too young to be Boy Scouts. It was adopted by many other Scouting organizations. Many Scouting organizations, including The Scout Association, no longer use the Wolf Cub program and have replaced it with other programs but have retained the name Cubs. Daveyton
Daveyton is a township in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality of Gauteng in South Africa. It borders Etwatwa to the north-east, Springs to the south and Benoni to the south-west. The nearest town is Benoni, which is approximately 18 kilometres away. Herbert William Garnet de la Hunt (25 August 1933 – 28 April 2014) served as the Chief Scout of the Boy Scouts of South Africa, as well as the Vice-Chairman of the Africa Scout Committee, and was the first South African to be elected to the World Scout Committee, a member from 1996 to 2002 and held the post of chairman of the committee.
