Nishiogikubo
is a district within Suginami Ward of Tokyo in Japan. It is further divided to five neighbourhoods of and four neighbourhoods of . Historically it formed a unitary village of Kami-Ogikubo together with the modern-day Kamiogi district of Suginami. Characteristics The area has Nishi-Ogikubo Station serving the JR Chūō and Sōbu lines. The neighbourhood is primarily residential, and is known to have a high concentration of shops specialised in antique curiosas and second-hand books, as well as establishments that play live music. Near Nishiogikubo station, the headquarters of the Japanese animation studio Khara, mostly known for its work on the Rebuild Of Evangelion anime series, is located. Suginami, Tokyo
is a special ward in Tokyo, Japan. The ward refers to itself as Suginami City in English. As of June 1, 2022, Suginami has an estimated population of 588,354 and a population density of 17,274 persons per km2. The total area is 34.06 km2. Geography Suginami occupies the western part of the ward area of Tokyo. Its neighbors include these special wards: to the east, Shibuya and Nakano; to the north, Nerima; and to the south, Setagaya. Its western neighbors are the cities of Mitaka and Musashino. The Kanda River passes through Suginami. The Zenpukuji river originates from Zenpukuji Park in western Suginami, and the Myōshōji River originates in Myōshōji Park, to the north of Ogikubo station. Nishi-Ogikubo Station
is a railway station on the Chūō Main Line in Suginami, Tokyo, Japan, operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East). Lines Nishi-Ogikubo Station is served by the Chūō Line (Rapid) and Chūō-Sōbu Line. Station layout The station has a "Midori no Madoguchi" staffed ticket office. is a Japanese animation studio, located in Suginami, Tokyo, best known for its work on the ''Rebuild of Evangelion'' film tetralogy. is the primary animation production studio. It was founded by Hideaki Anno in May 2006, and was shown publicly on 1 August when recruitment notices were posted on his website; Anno remains its president. The name ''khara'' comes from the Greek word χαρά, meaning ''joy''. ''Rebuild of Evangelion'', known in Japan and on Amazon Prime Video as , is a Japanese animated film series and a retelling of the original ''Neon Genesis Evangelion'' anime television series, produced by Studio Khara.
