Niranjan Shah
Niranjan Shah (born 4 June 1944) is a former Indian first-class cricketer, businessman and cricket administrator. During his playing career, Shah played for Saurashtra from 1965/66 to 1974/75. He currently serves as the honorary secretary of the Saurashtra Cricket Association. Career Shah started his cricket career while pursuing a B.Sc. at Dharmendra College and also went on to captain Saurashtra University. He appeared in 12 first-class matches playing for Saurashtra between the 1965/66 and 1974/75 seasons. He took over from Shatrusalyasinhji as the honorary secretary of Saurashtra Cricket Association in 1972 and has remained in the position ever since. Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium
Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, also known as the Khandheri Cricket Stadium, is a cricket stadium in Rajkot, India. It is Gujarat's first solar-powered stadium. In 2013, the first international match took place in this stadium. The host (India) played ODI against England. In same year, it hosted its first T20I between India and Australia which India won by six wickets. In 2016, this stadium hosted its first Test, India vs England. Although, the test ended in a draw. History Initially, the stadium was being used for Ranji Trophy matches, when the spectator stands were still being constructed. With the stands completed, the ground can hold 28,000 people. Saurashtra (region)
Saurashtra, also known as Sorath or Kathiawar, is a peninsular region of Gujarat, India, located on the Arabian Sea coast. It covers about a third of Gujarat state, notably 11 districts of Gujarat, including Rajkot District. It was formerly a Saurashtra (state), state of India before it merged with Bombay state. In 1961 it separated from Bombay and joined Gujarat. Location Saurashtra peninsula is bound on the south and south-west by the Arabian sea, on the north-west by the Gulf of Kutch and on the east by the Gulf of Khambhat. National Cricket Academy
The National Cricket Academy is a cricket facility of the BCCI for the purpose of developing young cricketers who have been identified as having the potential to represent the Indian cricket team. It was established in the year 2000 and is located in Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium, Bengaluru, Karnataka in India. The facility is also used for the rehabilitation of injured players. The NCA was the brainchild of cricket administrator and former BCCI President Raj Singh Dungarpur. In 2014, BCCI tied up with both Cricket Australia and the ECB to get experts in for helping draw its new structure. BCCI decided to make these changes along the lines of the state-of-the-art high-performance centres based in Australia and England as part of the revamp of the National Cricket Academy. The Indian Premier League (IPL), also known as TATA IPL for sponsorship reasons, is a men's T20 franchise cricket league of India.
