Nikola Bašić
Nikola Bašić (born 1946) is a Croatian architect internationally known for the conception of the Sea Organ in Zadar. He was born on the island Murter and eventually attended the gymnasium in Zadar. In Sarajevo, he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism. was a town located in Hazu District, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. As of May 1, 2004, the village had an estimated population of 12,351 and a population density of 474.13 persons per km². Its total area was 26.05 km². Isshiki was a coastal settlement in southern Aichi Prefecture, on Mikawa Bay. The town economy was based on commercial fishing, and seasonal tourism, with parts of the town within the borders of the Mikawa Wan Quasi-National Park. The modern town was founded in 1889, and expanded in 1906 and 1926 by merging with adjacent villages. The Sea organ ( hr, Morske orgulje) is an architectural sound art object located in Zadar, Croatia and an experimental musical instrument, which plays music by way of sea waves and tubes located underneath a set of large marble steps. History Chaotic reconstruction work was undertaken to repair the devastation Zadar suffered in the Second World War. The frantic reconstruction turned much of the sea front into an unbroken, monotonous concrete wall. Murter
Murter (; it, Mortero; la, Colentum) is an island in the Croatian part of the Adriatic Sea. Population The main settlements on the island are Murter, located on the north-western part of the island, and the southern part of Tisno. Other settlements on the island include the villages of Betina on the northwestern side and Jezera on the southeastern coast. In the 2011 census, the total island population is about 3,608 inhabitants. Greeting To The Sun
Monument to the Sun or The Greeting to the Sun ( hr, Pozdrav suncu) is a monument in Zadar, Croatia dedicated to the Sun. It consists of three hundred, multi-layered glass plates placed on the same level as the stone-paved waterfront. It consists of a 22-meter diameter circle, with photovoltaic solar modules underneath. Lighting elements installed in a circle turn on at night, and produce a light show. The monument, designed by Croatian architect Nikola Bašić, symbolizes communication with nature, communicates with light, while the nearby Sea organ communicates with sound.
