Dackarna
Dackarna is a speedway club from Målilla in Sweden who compete in the Swedish Elitserien. Their home track is at the Skrotfrag Arena which has been used as the venue for the Grand Prix of Scandinavia since 2005. History The team was founded in May 1935 as Målilla Motorklubb and in 1949 renamed itself Dackarna (in honour of Nils Dacke) and the club began league racing. Dackarna raced in the highest level of league racing in Sweden between 1951 and 1965, winning the league championship in 1957, 1958, 1959, and 1962, and finished as runners-up in 1956 and 1964. Dackarna switched between the first and second league for the next 30 years until 1997 when the team received the backing of a major new sponsor (Svelux) and were renamed Team Svelux. Svelux were taken over by Luxo in 2002 and the team name was changed to Luxo Stars. In 2006 the sponsorship deal expired and the team name reverted to Dackarna. Kolejarz Opole (Railwayman Opole) is a motorcycle speedway team based in Opole, Poland. They currently race in the Polish Speedway Second League (2. Liga). History The club race at the Municipal Speedway Stadium or Mariana Spychała Stadium named after a former rider and coach Mariana Spychała. The speedway track was constructed in 1957. On 5 April 1957 the speedway club was officially founded as Klub Sportowy Kolejarz Opole and made its debut in the Polish leagues in 1961. The club's first honour was winning the Polish Speedway First League in 1969 and they went on to win the league three more times in 1974, 1980, 1987. After their 1969 victory they competed in the highest league and won the bronze medal in 1970. Vetlanda Speedway were a motorcycle speedway team based in Vetlanda, Sweden. Earlier known as Njudungarna and VMS Elit, the club was formed in 1946, and arranged their first meeting three years later. In 2003 when the club was promoted to the top division of Swedish speedway league, the Elitserien Elitserien (literally, "the Elite League") is the name of several Swedish nationwide sport leagues. The 2008 Team Speedway Junior European Championship was the 1st UEM Team Speedway Junior European Championship season. The Final took place on May 22 2008 in Florian Kapała Stadium in Rawicz, Poland. First edition European Championship was won by Sweden team. Results It was the first Championship title for Linus Eklöf (11 points in Final), Ludvig Lindgren (10 pts), Simon Gustafsson (9 pts), Linus Sundström (6 pts) and Niklas Larsson (0 heats). Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). Competitors use this surface to slide their machines sideways, powersliding or broadsiding into the bends. On the straight sections of the track, the motorcycles reach speeds of up to . Rawicz (; german: Rawitsch) is a town in west-central Poland with 21,398 inhabitants as of 2004. It is situated in the Greater Poland Voivodeship (since 1999); previously it was in Leszno Voivodeship (1975–1998). It is the capital of Rawicz County.
