Team Speedway Junior European Championship
The Team Speedway Junior European Championship is an annual motorcycle speedway event for junior riders. The event is organised by the European Motorcycle Union (UEM) from 2008 to 2012. From 2013 to 2020, it was organised by Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme. In 2021, the competition age limit increased to under 23 years of age. Motorcycle Speedway
Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). Competitors use this surface to slide their machines sideways, powersliding or broadsiding into the bends. On the straight sections of the track, the motorcycles reach speeds of up to . Patryk Dudek (; born 20 June 1992) is a Polish motorcycle speedway rider who is a member of the Polish national speedway team. Career Dudek's father, Sławomir, was a professional rider and Patryk gained his speedway licence in 2008. Dudek won 2009 and 2010 Team U-19 European Champion and 2009 Individual Under-21 Polish Champion titles. In 2017, he won the silver medal during the 2017 Speedway Grand Prix, having accomplished this during his debut season in the Speedway Grand Prix series, which makes him the most successful SGP rookie ever. The 2009 Team Speedway Junior European Championship will be the 2nd UEM Team Speedway Junior European Championship season. The Final will be held on August 23, 2009 in Holsted, Denmark. The championship was won by Poland (40 points), who they beat defending champion Sweden (38 points), host team Denmark (26 points) and Czech Republic (15 points) Results In the Final will be the defending Champions Sweden, host team Denmark (3rd place in 2008 Final) and Poland (4th place). Simon Nielsen (born 1 October 1990) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Denmark. Career Born in Stenlille, Nielsen won 2005 Individual Speedway FIM Youth Gold Trophy 80 cc, unofficial U-16 World Championship. He rode in the Denmark U-19 national team. In 2011, he came to the UK to try to get a team place and got a place in the Workington Comets team towards the end of the season.
