Niels Lauritz Dahl
Niels Lauritz Dahl (29 October 1925 – 17 January 2014) was a Norwegian diplomat. He was born in Oslo as a son of Dagfinn Dahl. He was a maternal nephew of Johannes Schrøder, paternal grandson of Konrad Neumann Hjelm Dahl, grandnephew of Walter Scott Dahl and great-grandson of Nils Nilssøn Dahl. He was a cand.jur. by education. He served as the Norwegian ambassador to Tanzania from 1978 to 1982. After coordinating the relief aid efforts for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Norway), Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1982 to 1985, he was the Norwegian ambassador to Iceland from 1985 to 1988 and Kenya from 1988 to 1991. Nils Nilssøn Dahl
Niels Lauritz Dahl (18 July 1806 – 21 July 1854) was a Norwegian priest and politician. He was born in Romsdal. He was the father of Konrad Neumann Hjelm Dahl and Walter Scott Dahl, grandfather of Dagfinn Dahl and great-grandfather of Niels Lauritz Dahl. He was elected to the Parliament of Norway in 1844 Norwegian parliamentary election, 1844 from Sør-Trøndelag, Søndre Trondhjems Amt, and re-elected in 1847 Norwegian parliamentary election, 1847 and 1850 Norwegian parliamentary election, 1850. He was counted as liberal, and has been viewed as one of the best speakers in Parliament at the time. As a political ally of Henrik Wergeland, he wrote the draft when Parliament in 1851 abolished the prohibition of Jews in the Norwegian Constitution. He was a curate before being appointed as vicar in Eid, Norway, Eid in 1851. References
