Nicolás Medina (Chilean Footballer)
Nicolás Esteban Medina Ríos (born 28 March 1987) is a Chilean former professional Association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football), forward. Club career Born in Santiago, Medina began his football career at Club Universidad de Chile, being promoted to the first team in 2006. Also during that year, he received an offer from Real Madrid CF, Real Madrid, but did not accept it because he still wanted to develop his game before making the move to Europe. In the following summer, Medina signed with another club from Spain, CA Osasuna, in a four-year contract and a Euro, €400.000 fee. He was immediately loaned to Segunda División side SD Eibar, where he was played very rarely (ten matches out of 42). The 2008–09 Segunda División season (known from that season as Liga Adelante for sponsorship reasons) was the 78th since its establishment. The first matches of the season were played on 30 August 2008, and the season ended on 21 June 2009. Real Zaragoza, Real Murcia and Levante were the teams relegated from La Liga the previous season. Alicante, Girona, Huesca and Rayo Vallecano were the teams promoted from Segunda División B the previous season.
