Nicolene 'Nici' Neal (born 2 March 1970) is a South African international lawn bowler. Bowls career She was born in Roodepoort, South Africa and was selected as part of the South African team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Queensland where she claimed two silver medals: in the Fours with Elma Davis, Johanna Snyman and Esme Kruger and the Pairs with Colleen Piketh. She won the 2014 & 2016 singles titles and the 2016 fours title at the South African National Bowls Championships bowling for the Leases Bowls Club. In 2015 she won the pairs gold medal at the Atlantic Bowls Championships. Bowls career In 2016, Davis won a bronze medal with Susan Nel and Sylvia Burns in the triples at the 2016 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Christchurch. 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship
The 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship was to be the 14th edition of the World Championships to be held at the Broadbeach Bowls Club, Musgrave Hill Bowls Club and Club Helensvale on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. There were to be eight events that determined the 2021 world champions, the men's singles, doubles, triples and fours and the women's singles, doubles, triples and fours and in addition there are two overall team winners who receive the Leonard and Taylor trophies respectively. It was originally scheduled from 23 May to 7 June 2020 but the event was officially cancelled on 9 March 2021. Postponement The event followed suit of other sporting events around the world in early 2020, with the outbreak of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak wreaking havoc across the sporting industry. Colleen Piketh
Colleen Piketh (' Webb; born 26 December 1972) is a South African international lawn bowler. Bowls career In 2007 she won the singles gold medal at the Atlantic Bowls Championships. In 2011 she won the pairs and fours silver medals at the Atlantic Bowls Championships. Piketh competed in the women's pairs and the women's singles events at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where she won a gold and bronze medal respectively. She won a gold medal in the women's pairs at the World Bowls Atlantic Bowls Championships in Cyprus in 2015, together with Nici Neal. Piketh also competed in the singles format at the same tournament, losing to Guernsey's Lucy Beere 21-15 in the medal playoff game. Biography She was born in Cape Town, South Africa and won the triples and fours bronze medals at the Atlantic Bowls Championships.
