Elma Davis
Elma Davis (1 April 1968 – 14 April 2019) was a South African international lawn bowler. Bowls career In 2016, Davis won a bronze medal with Susan Nel and Sylvia Burns in the triples at the 2016 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Christchurch. Davis was part of the South African team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Queensland where she claimed a silver medal in the Fours with Esme Kruger, Johanna Snyman and Nicolene Neal. Bowls, also known as lawn bowls or lawn bowling, is a sport in which the objective is to roll biased balls so that they stop close to a smaller ball called a "jack" or "kitty". The South African National Bowls Championships is organised by Bowls South Africa (BSA). The first National Singles Championships were held in 1897 in Kimberley despite the fact that the South African Bowls Association was not formed until 1904. Nicolene 'Nici' Neal (born 2 March 1970) is a South African international lawn bowler. Bowls career She was born in Roodepoort, South Africa and was selected as part of the South African team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Queensland where she claimed two silver medals: in the Fours with Elma Davis, Johanna Snyman and Esme Kruger and the Pairs with Colleen Piketh. She won the 2014 & 2016 singles titles and the 2016 fours title at the South African National Bowls Championships bowling for the Leases Bowls Club. In 2015 she won the pairs gold medal at the Atlantic Bowls Championships. Johanna Anneke Snyman also known as just Anneke Snyman (born 6 May 1994) is a South African international lawn bowler. Biography She was born in Cape Town, South Africa and won the triples and fours bronze medals at the Atlantic Bowls Championships. She was selected as part of the South African team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Queensland where she claimed a silver medal in the Fours with Elma Davis, Esme Kruger and Nicolene Neal. In 2019 she won the fours silver medal and triples bronze medal at the Atlantic Bowls Championships and in 2020 she moved clubs from Bredasdorp BC to Western Province Cricket Club. In 2022, she competed in the women's triples and the Women's fours at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. In the fours the team of Snyman, Esme Kruger, Thabelo Muvhango and Bridget Calitz reached the final and won a silver medal after losing in the final 17-10 to India.
