Nicolas Becker (jurist)
Nicolas Becker (born 1946) is a German jurist and criminal defense lawyer. Career Becker was born in Kressbronn am Bodensee, the second son of the lawyer and educator and the writer Antoinette Becker. He grew up at Lake Konstanz, studied law in Freiburg, where he was a leading member of the student movement. His career is marked by many high profile cases. In the 1970s, Becker represented several RAF members at the infamous Stammheim Trials. In the early 1990s, he took over the defense of the former Chairman of the Council of State, Erich Honecker. Among his best-known mandates were Christiane Felscherinow () and, at the end of the 1990s, the impostor Gert Postel. He defended Manfred Krug when he was charged with road rage assault, and also represented the legendary Tunnel Gangsters. Jurist
A jurist is a person with expert knowledge of law; someone who analyses and comments on law. This person is usually a specialist legal scholar, mostly (but not always) with a formal qualification in law and often a legal practitioner. Antoinette Becker
Antoinette Becker (born Antoinette Mathis, 5 April 1920 – 29 August 1998) was a French-German author, especially of books for children and young people. She also translated, such as Aribert Reimann's opera ''Lear''. Career Born Antoinette Mathis in Strasbourg, she was the secretary of Ernst Rudolf Huber, professor of constitutional law at the Reichsuniversität Straßburg. She met there her future husband who worked as an assistant, and later became a lawyer and politician of education. The couple raised six children, including the lawyer Nicolas Becker, the psychoanalyst Stephan Becker, Sophinette Becker, and also the foster child Joachim Nettelbeck. Erich Honecker
Erich Ernst Paul Honecker (; 25 August 1912 – 29 May 1994) was a German communist politician who led the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) from 1971 until shortly before the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989. He held the posts of General Secretary of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) and Chairman of the National Defence Council; in 1976, he replaced Willi Stoph as Chairman of the State Council, the official head of state. As the leader of East Germany, Honecker had close ties to the Soviet Union, which maintained a large army in the country. Honecker's political career began in the 1930s when he became an official of the Communist Party of Germany, a position for which he was imprisoned by the Nazis. Christiane Vera Felscherinow (born 20 May 1962) is a German actress and musician who is best known for her contribution to the 1978 autobiographical book ''Christiane F.'' (original title: ), and the film and television miniseries based on the book, in which her teenage drug use is documented. Early life Felscherinow was born in Hamburg, but her family moved to West Berlin when she was a child. They settled in Gropiusstadt, a neighbourhood in Neukölln that consisted mainly of high-rise concrete apartment blocks where social problems were prevalent. Felscherinow's father frequently drank large volumes of alcohol and was abusive towards his two daughters while her mother was absorbed by an extra-marital relationship. Gert Uwe Postel (born June 18, 1958 in Bremen) is a German impostor, best known for successfully applying several times for public health positions as a medical doctor without ever having received medical education. Gert Postel went to Hauptschule and finished his training as a mail carrier. Postel himself said that his mother died because of a maladministered clinical depression, depression treatment and that he himself had briefly been in a Psychiatric institution#Juvenile wards, juvenile ward. Liebling Kreuzberg is a television series on ARD, which was first aired in five seasons with a total of 58 episodes from 1986 to 1998. The scripts of seasons one through three and five were written by Jurek Becker, who tailor-made the role of idiosyncratic Berlin Kreuzberg attorney Robert Liebling for his friend Manfred Krug, the fourth season was written by Ulrich Plenzdorf. Manfred Krug
Manfred Krug (; 8 February 1937 – 21 October 2016) was a German actor, singer and author. Life and work Born in Duisburg, Krug moved to East Germany at the age of 13, and worked at a steel plant before beginning his acting career on the stage and, ultimately, in film. By the end of the 1950s he had several film roles, and in 1960 he appeared in Frank Beyer's successful war movie ''Fünf Patronenhülsen'' (''Five Cartridges''). Many more film roles followed, with Krug often cast as a socialist hero. Krug also achieved notability as a popular jazz singer, often in collaboration with composer Günther Fischer.
