Kressbronn am Bodensee is a municipality and a village in the district of Bodensee in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. It lies on Lake Constance. Between 1919 and 2011, Kressbronn was the site of the Bodan-Werft shipyard, which built many of the ferries and other vessels used on Lake Constance and other Alpine Alpine may refer to any mountainous region. Bodenseekreis ("Lake Constance district") is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the south-east of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from west, clockwise) Konstanz, Sigmaringen and Ravensburg, and in Bavaria, Lindau district. To the south, on the opposite shores of Lake Constance, lies Switzerland. History The district was created in 1973, when the previous district Tettnang was merged with most of the district Überlingen. Geography The district is located at the northern shore of Lake Constance (german: Bodensee), which also gives the district its name. Lake Constance
Lake Constance (german: Bodensee, ) refers to three Body of water, bodies of water on the Rhine at the northern foot of the Alps: Upper Lake Constance (''Obersee''), Lower Lake Constance (''Untersee''), and a connecting stretch of the Rhine, called the Seerhein, Lake Rhine (''Seerhein''). These waterbodies lie within the Lake Constance Basin () in the Alpine Foreland through which the Rhine flows. The lake is situated where Germany, Switzerland, and Austria meet. Bodan-Werft
Boden-Werft GmbH is a German company, and a former shipyard, located in the port of Kressbronn on Lake Constance. The company was founded in 1919 as a shipyard, but the shipyard business was wound-up in 2011. The shipyard diversified into the building of swimming pools, and into operating a yacht harbour adjacent to the shipyard. These businesses still exist under the names Bodan Schwimmbadbau and Bodan Freizeit & Hafen. Nicolas Becker (jurist)
Nicolas Becker (born 1946) is a German jurist and criminal defense lawyer. Career Becker was born in Kressbronn am Bodensee, the second son of the lawyer and educator and the writer Antoinette Becker. He grew up at Lake Konstanz, studied law in Freiburg, where he was a leading member of the student movement. His career is marked by many high profile cases. In the 1970s, Becker represented several RAF members at the infamous Stammheim Trials. In the early 1990s, he took over the defense of the former Chairman of the Council of State, Erich Honecker. Among his best-known mandates were Christiane Felscherinow () and, at the end of the 1990s, the impostor Gert Postel. He defended Manfred Krug when he was charged with road rage assault, and also represented the legendary Tunnel Gangsters.
