Nic Henning
Nic Henning (born 26 April 1969) is a South African professional golfer. Professional career Henning states he had "no choice" but to become a professional golfer as he was born into a big golfing family; his father, Graham Henning, and three of his uncles were professional golfers. He qualified for the Sunshine Tour before the 1992–93 season. His best performance during his early years was a runner-up performance at the Zimbabwe Open at the beginning of the 1993–94 season. Henning qualified for the European Tour before the 1994 season. He did not play well, recording only one top-10 and did not come close to keeping his card. He returned to South Africa where he played for the remainder of the 1990s and recorded a number of top-10s before finally winning the 1999 Vodacom Players Championship. Nashua Golf Challenge
The Sun City Challenge is a golf tournament on the Sunshine Tour. It has been played annually since 2007. From 2007 to 2011 it was called the Nashua Golf Challenge and was held at the Gary Player Country Club, although from 2007 to 2009 the second round was played at Lost City Golf Course. From 2012 to 2015 it was held at Lost City Golf Course, before returning to the Gary Player Country Club from 2016. The Open Championship
The Open Championship, often referred to as The Open or the British Open, is the oldest golf tournament in the world, and one of the most prestigious. Founded in 1860, it was originally held annually at Prestwick Golf Club in Scotland. Later the venue rotated between a select group of coastal links golf courses in the United Kingdom. It is organised by the R&A. The Open is one of the four men's major golf tournaments, the others being the Masters Tournament, the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open. Since the PGA Championship moved to May in 2019, the Open has been chronologically the fourth and final major tournament of the year. It is held in mid-July. Tongoona Charamba
Tongoona "TC" Charamba (born 2 February 1982) is a professional golfer from Zimbabwe. Charamba was born in Harare, Zimbabwe. He won 12 amateur tournaments, including the Zimbabwe Amateur Matchplay and Stokeplay Championships in 2002, and led the Zimbabwe Order of Merit from 2000 to 2002, before turning professional in 2003. Charamba became just the third black golfer to win on the Sunshine Tour when he claimed the SAA Pro-Am Invitational in 2006. In 2008, he won the MTC Namibia PGA Championship and finished a career best 27th on the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit. Merrick Bremner
Merrick Bremner (born 26 March 1986) is a South African professional golfer. He plays on the Sunshine Tour, where he has won eight times. Professional career In 2012, Bremner led by two strokes after the first round of the SA Open Championship. He shot a course record 64 at Serengeti GC and eventually finished the tournament in a tie for 33rd after carding an 80 in the final round. Keith Horne
Keith Weller Horne (born 9 June 1971) is a professional golfer from South Africa. Horne was born in Durban and had a successful amateur career. In 1993, Horne won a Silver Medal at the World Games in Spain. He turned professional in 1996. He is an alumnus of Westville Boys' High School. Professional career After turning professional in 1996, Horne immediately joined the local Sunshine Tour, the richest professional golf tour in South Africa. His first professional win came in 1998 at the Vodacom Series: Kwazulu Natal. After that, he had a few off-seasons until he won a few unofficial Pro-Ams in 2003. The 2008 Sunshine Tour was the ninth season of professional golf tournaments since the southern Africa based Sunshine Tour was relaunched in 2000, and the second since the tour switched a calendar based season in 2007. The Sunshine Tour represents the highest level of competition for male professional golfers in the region. The tour was based predominantly in South Africa, with 26 of the 30 tournaments being held in the country. Two events were held in Swaziland, with one each in Zambia and Namibia. There were two new tournaments, The Africa Open, which the tour hopes will become "Africa's Major" in the future, and the BMG Classic, founded by the Bearing Man Group, who wished to continue their involvement with the tour following the end of their long run as title sponsors of the Highveld Classic. Titch Moore
Trevor Richard "Titch" Moore (born 18 February 1976) is a South African professional golfer. He currently plays on the Sunshine Tour, where he has won seven times between 2000 and 2007. Moore was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. He turned pro in 1997 and joined the Sunshine Tour in that same year.
