Netherlands In The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016
The Netherlands participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 which took place in Valletta, Malta on 20 November 2016. The Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS, was responsible for the organisation of their representative at the contest. The band, Kisses, a trio consisting of three girls: Kymora, Stefania and Sterre, were chosen internally by the Dutch broadcaster on 27 May 2016. Kisses performed their song "Kisses and Dancin'". Background Prior to the 2016 Contest, the Netherlands had participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest thirteen times since its first entry in 2003. Christer Björkman
Christer Samuel Björkman (; born 25 August 1957) is a Swedish singer and television producer. He represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 1992 with the song "I morgon är en annan dag". From 2002 to 2021, he served as a producer of Melodifestivalen, and remained an important figure in Melodifestivalen and the Eurovision Song Contest. He stepped down from this position after Melodifestivalen 2021, and is currently working at Voxovation, a Los Angeles-based company that focuses on expanding the Eurovision Song Contest brand into other markets. Jan Smit (born 31 December 1985) is a Dutch singer, television host, and actor. Smit mostly sings songs in the Dutch language, in a genre known as ''Volendam music''.
