Nelson Bornier
Nelson Bornier (January 14, 1950 – April 11, 2021) was a Brazilian lawyer and politician. He served as a federal deputy for the Rio de Janeiro for five terms and was the only mayor elected three times in Nova Iguaçu. In 2016 Bornier was a candidate for re-election to the mayor for the A Mudança Vai Continue coalition, which brought together eighteen parties. Early life Born on January 14, 1950, in Nova Iguaçu, State of Rio de Janeiro, he was son of serester Nelson Nunes and Dalva Bornier. Bornier grew up in the K11 neighborhood of Nova Iguaçu, with his sisters Rosa Maria, Maria Luiza and their parents. At the age of 12, he began working as a clerk in the Rene Granado Office and before graduating in law, in 1977, he opened an accounting office with his sister Rosa, providing services to the main companies in the city, such as Compactor and Grande Rio. The Chamber of Deputies ( pt, Câmara dos Deputados) is a federal legislative body and the lower house of the National Congress of Brazil. The chamber comprises 513 deputies, who are elected by proportional representation to serve four-year terms. The current President of the Chamber is the Deputy Arthur Lira ( PP- AL), who was elected on 1 February 2021. Structure The number of deputies elected is proportional to the size of the population of the respective state (or of the Federal District) as of 1994. However, no delegation can be made up of less than eight or more than seventy seats. Thus the least populous state elects eight federal deputies and the most populous elects seventy. These restrictions favour the smaller states at the expense of the more populous states and so the size of the delegations is not exactly proportional to population. Lindberg Farias
Luiz Lindbergh Farias Filho, commonly known only as Lindbergh Farias (born 8 December 1969), is a Brazilian former student union leader and politician. Lindberg became famous as student leader, specially in 1992, when he was president of the National Union of Students (UNE) and one of the main leaders of the student movement ''Caras-Pintadas'' (''Painted Faces'') against the then president Fernando Collor de Mello, who was his ally before Lindberg's political career. Farias attended Medicine and Law colleges, but never got a degree. After leaving the student movement, he was elect Federal Deputy for two legislatures.
