Nelonen (soccer League)
Nelonen or IV divisioona is the fifth level in the Finnish football league system and comprises 159 teams. The IV divisioona was introduced in 1973 and in the mid-1990s became known as the Nelonen (''Number Four'' in English and ''Fyran'' in Swedish). Competition There are 159 clubs in the Nelonen, divided in 14 groups of 9 to 12 teams each representing a geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club normally plays the others twice, once at their home ground and once at that of their opponents. The top team in each Nelonen group is normally promoted to Kolmonen and the two lowest placed teams are normally relegated to the Vitonen. Savonlinnan Työväen Palloseura
Savonlinnan Työväen Palloseura or STPS for short, is a football club located in Savonlinna, Finland. The club was founded in 1947. STPS has a strong labour movement background, ''"työväen palloseura"'' meaning "workers ball club" in Finnish. This traditional club has 650 active members which makes STPS largest sport group in the city of Savonlinna. The club hosts many youth and women's teams. The women's futsal team won the Finnish championship in 2005. STPS is currently playing in South-Eastern Finland's Kolmonen (the 4th highest tier in the Finnish football system). PEPO
PEPO Lappeenranta (abbreviated PEPO) is a football club from Lappeenranta in Finland. The club was formed in 1958 and their home ground is at the Kimpinen Sports Centre. The men's first team currently plays in the Ykkönen (Second Division). The chairman of PEPO is Kari Suninen and the men's first team is managed by Janne Muhli. History PEPO's inaugural meeting was held at the Lavola School in Lappee municipality on 12 November 1958. The name of the club was chosen as Uus-Lavolan Peli-Pojat at the first annual general meeting of the club held on 30 November 1958. Eastern Finland
Eastern Finland ( fi, Itä-Suomen lääni, sv, Östra Finlands län) was a province of Finland from 1997 to 2009. It bordered the provinces of Oulu, Western Finland and Southern Finland. Helsingin Palloseura (HPS) ( en, Helsinki Ball Game Club) is a sports club from Helsinki, Finland established in 1917. HPS has been active in several sports including bandy, ice hockey, football, handball and basketball. Historically, HPS men's team is one of the most successful football teams in Finland, winning nine national championships during the 1920s and 1930s.
