Nelly Ciobanu
Nelea Ciobanu-Mărgineanu (born 28 October 1974), known professionally as Nelly Ciobanu () is a Moldovan singer. Ciobanu graduated from music college of the city of Tiraspol and later made her debut on stage in 1993, with her brother as part of duo "Master Dinamit". She represented Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song "Hora din Moldova", placing 14th. Run Away (SunStroke Project And Olia Tira Song)
"Run Away" is a song performed by SunStroke Project and Olia Tira, and represented Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in May 2010 in Oslo, Norway. The song won the final of the '' O melodie pentru Europa 2010'', that took place on 6 March. It gained the maximum number of points from both the juries and the televotes. In the contest, it was performed first on the night of the first semi-final, preceding Russia's Lost and Forgotten and passed to the final. The inspiration for the "Epic Jazz Jive" came from observing ducks, waddling through sand, on the beach. After the contest, "Run Away" would also become the subject of a major internet meme surrounding the saxophone solos performed by saxophonist Sergey Stepanov who, in a phenomenon similar to Rickrolling and Trololo, was dubbed the "Epic Sax Guy" in videos on YouTube. Olia Tira (born Olga Tsyra) ( ro, Olga Țîra) on 1 August 1988), also known by her stage name FLUX LIGHT, is a German-born Moldovan singer. Early life Tira was born in 1988 into a Soviet military family in Potsdam, East Germany. She spent a few years there and moved to Chișinău. She first appeared in festivals and concerts when she was 14 years old. Tira attended school in Cahul and is currently a student in the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in Chișinău. Tira's first album, ''Your Place or Mine?'', was released in December 2006 by Nordika Multimedia. The songs were all written by Ruslan Taranu. Sun Stroke Project
SunStroke Project is a Moldovan musical duo composed of Sergei Yalovitsky (vocals, composer) and Sergey Stepanov (saxophonist). They achieved fame for representing Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with Olia Tira, and again in the 2017 contest. The duo was originally formed as a trio, including both current members in addition to Anton Ragoza. The name of the group was chosen by Ragoza whilst working in the army with Sergey Stepanov, after he had an incident in which he was affected by heat stroke whilst on a field exercise. On 25 February 2017, SunStroke Project was selected once more to represent Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song " Hey, Mamma!", and finished in third place after qualifying for the final on 9 May. Moldova has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 17 times, debuting in . The country's best result is a third-place finish for SunStroke Project in 2017, with their song " Hey, Mamma!". Moldova participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "A Century of Love" written by Oleg Baraliuc and Victoria Demici. The song was performed by Geta Burlacu. The Moldovan broadcaster TeleRadio-Moldova (TRM) organised the national final ''O melodie pentru Europa 2008'' in order to select the Moldovan entry for the 2008 contest in Belgrade, Serbia. 27 entries competed to represent Moldova in Belgrade, with 12 being shortlisted to participate in the televised national final which took place on 9 February 2008.
