Nekromantix Albums
The Nekromantix is a Danish-American psychobilly band founded in Copenhagen in 1989. Their lyrics are generally structured around monster and horror themes. A central icon of the band's image is founder and frontman Kim Nekroman's "coffinbass", a custom-built double bass with a body in the shape of a coffin and a headstock the shape of a cross. Nekroman has been the sole constant member of the band. The current lineup consists of guitarist Francisco Mesa and drummer Rene "Delamuerte" Garcia, known as a guitarist and singer of the Canadian band "The Brains". The Nekromantix released five albums on various European record labels during their first decade, then crossed over to American audiences in the early 2000s by signing to Los Angeles-based Hellcat Records, through which they have released three albums since 2002. Tim Armstrong
Timothy Ross Armstrong (born November 25, 1965) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and producer. Known for his distinctive voice, he is the singer/guitarist for the punk rock band Rancid and hip hop/punk rock supergroup Transplants. Prior to forming Rancid, Armstrong was in the ska punk band Operation Ivy. In 1997, along with Brett Gurewitz of the band Bad Religion and owner of Epitaph Records, Armstrong founded Hellcat Records. In 2012, through his website, Armstrong started releasing music that influenced him, along with stripped-down cover songs of his own under the name Tim Timebomb. Armstrong is also a songwriter for other artists. Armstrong won a Grammy Award for his work with Jimmy Cliff and Pink, and has also worked with Joe Walsh. Rancid (band)
Rancid is an American punk rock band formed in Berkeley, California in 1991. Founded by Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman, former members of the band Operation Ivy (band), Operation Ivy, Rancid is often credited as being among the wave of bands that revived mainstream interest in punk rock in the United States during the mid-1990s. Over their -year career, Rancid retained much of its original fan-base, most of which was connected to its underground musical roots. Rancid has had two lineup changes since its inception, with Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman being continuous members. Their current lineup consists of Armstrong on guitar and vocals, Freeman on Bass guitar, bass and vocals, Lars Frederiksen on guitar and vocals, and Branden Steineckert on Drum kit, drums. ''Undead 'n' Live'' is a live album by the Danish psychobilly band the Nekromantix, released in 2000 by E.S.P. Recordings. It marked the return of the band's original guitarist Peter Sandorff and the introduction of his brother Kristian as drummer. Most of the album's material is drawn from Peter Sandorff's previous years in the band. The album was recorded at Stengade 30 in the band's home town of Copenhagen and includes the previously unreleased song "Nice Day for a Resurrection" which would later appear on the band's 2002 album '' Return of the Loving Dead''. HorrorPops
HorrorPops are a Danish punk band that formed in 1996. The band's sound is rooted in psychobilly, rockabilly, and punk rock. History 1996–1999: Formation Band founders Patricia Day and Kim Nekroman first met when Day's now-defunct band, the punk rock group Peanut Pump Gun, opened for Nekroman's psychobilly band, Nekromantix, at the POPKOM festival in Cologne, Germany in 1996. Despite both belonging to the subculture scene of Copenhagen, Denmark, the two had never met before, but they became friends over their mutual interest in alternative music. 2000–2003: Demo tape and signing In 2000, Day recruited two friends, Mille and Kamilla Vanilla, co-workers at the body piercing shop she worked at to act as go-go dancers for the band's live show. Patricia Day
Patricia Day is a Danish musician best known as the lead singer and bass player of the rockabilly/psychobilly band HorrorPops. Early life Patricia Day was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Career Bands Patricia Day began her musical career performing with the Danish punk rock band Peanut Pump Gun. She met Nekromantix singer and bassist, Kim Nekroman, at the 1996 POPKOMM festival in Cologne, Germany, when Peanut Pump Gun opened for his group. ''Demons Are a Girl's Best Friend'' is the fourth album by the Danish psychobilly band the Nekromantix, released in 1996 by Nervous Records. It was the band's last album to include drummer Tim Kristensen (credited as Grim Tim Hansdsome), and only album to include guitarist Søren Munk Petersen. After both members left the group, original guitarist Peter Sandorff returned to the lineup and brought in his brother Kristian as drummer. The CD and LP versions of the album were released with different covers, and the LP also included the "Demons Are a Girl's Best Friend" single.
