Nehru Cup (cricket)
The MRF World Series for the Jawaharlal Nehru Cup was an international cricket tournament held in India to celebrate the birth centenary of Jawaharlal Nehru, first Prime Minister of India. The tournament took place in October and November 1989, and was sponsored by the Madras Rubber Factory (MRF). Six teams took part India, the hosts, Australia, England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the West Indies. The tournament was a round robin with each team playing each other once. Board Of Control For Cricket In India
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the national governing body for cricket in India. Its headquarters are situated at Cricket centre, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The BCCI is the richest governing body of cricket in the world and is part of the ''Big Three'' of international cricket, along with Cricket Australia and the England and Wales Cricket Board. The board was formed in and is a consortium of List of members of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, state cricket associations. Phillip Anthony Jason "Daffy" DeFreitas (born 18 February 1966) is an English former cricketer. He played county cricket for Leicestershire County Cricket Club, Leicestershire, Lancashire County Cricket Club, Lancashire and Derbyshire County Cricket Club, Derbyshire, as well as appearing in 44 Test cricket, Test matches and 103 One Day Internationals, ODIs. Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium
The Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, formerly known as Fateh Maidan, is a multi-purpose sports stadium in Hyderabad, Telangana. The stadium is primarily used for cricket and association football. The stadium was renamed in 1967 in memory of Lal Bahadur Shastri, India's former Prime Minister. As of 19 August 2017, it has hosted 3 Tests and 14 ODIs. Wayne Larkins
Wayne Larkins (born 22 November 1953) is an English former cricketer, who represented Northamptonshire, Durham and Bedfordshire as an opening batsman throughout his career. He was selected to play for England as Graham Gooch's opening partner on tours of Australia and the West Indies. He was also a semi-professional footballer. Allan Border
Allan Robert Border (born 27 July 1955) is an Australian cricket commentator and former international cricketer. A batsman, Border was for many years the captain of the Australian team. His playing nickname was "A.B.". He played 156 Test matches in his career, a record until it was passed by fellow Australian Steve Waugh. Angus Robert Charles Fraser (born 8 August 1965) is an English cricket administrator. He served as the managing director of Middlesex Cricket between 2009 and 2021, before assuming a new role heading the club's academy He is also a former English cricketer, journalist and England selector. Peter John McConnell (born 11 November 1944) is a retired Australian Test cricket match umpire, from Western Australia. He umpired 22 Test matches between 1983 and 1992. His first match was between Australia and Pakistan at Perth on 11 November to 14 November 1983, won by Australia by an innings and 9 runs, with Wayne Phillips scoring a century on debut, Graham Yallop also scoring a century and Carl Rackemann taking 11 wickets. Feroz Shah Kotla Ground
The Arun Jaitley Stadium is a cricket stadium owned and operated the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) and located on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi. It was established in 1883 as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, and named after the nearby Kotla fort. It is the second oldest functional international cricket stadium in India, after the Eden Gardens of Kolkata. As of 25 October 2019, it has hosted 34 Tests, 25 ODIs and 6 T20I.
