National Road 1 (Poland)
National road 1 ( pl, Droga krajowa nr 1) is a route in the Polish national road network. The highway connects the northern and southern regions of Poland, running from Gdańsk to Zwardoń at the Slovak border, traversing the Pomeranian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Łódź and Silesian voivodeships. It has four bridges over the Vistula river. Most of the national road 1 is a component of European highway E75. From Gdańsk to Piotrków Trybunalski, the road has a motorway standard and is marked as A1 motorway. From Piotrków Trybunalski to Katowice, it is part of the '' Gierkówka'' route - a dual carriageway road constructed in the 1970s not up to motorway standard, marked as National road 1. As of 2019, the reconstruction of its northern half (from Tuszyn to Częstochowa) into A1 motorway has started, forcing closure of one carriageway and diverting the whole traffic to the second carriageway for the time of reconstruction. Pomeranian Voivodeship
Pomeranian Voivodeship, Pomorskie Region, or Pomerania Province (Polish: ''Województwo pomorskie'' ; ( Kashubian: ''Pòmòrsczé wòjewództwò'' ), is a voivodeship, or province, in northwestern Poland. The provincial capital is Gdańsk. The voivodeship was established on January 1, 1999, out of the former voivodeships of Gdańsk, Elbląg and Słupsk, pursuant to the Polish local government reforms adopted in 1997. It is bordered by West Pomeranian Voivodeship to the west, Greater Poland and Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeships to the south, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship to the east, and the Baltic Sea to the north. National Road 7 (Poland)
Droga krajowa nr 7 ( pl, National road No. 7, DK 7) is a route of the Polish national roads network running from Żukowo near Gdańsk, through Warsaw and Kraków to the border with Slovakia at Chyżne. It is part of European route E77. The stretch between Kraków and Zakopane is commonly referred to as '' Zakopianka''. Since the beginning of 1990s parts of the DK 7 were being rebuilt to expressway standards and now form part of the Expressway S7. Expressway S1 (Poland)
Expressway S1 or express road S1 is an expressway under construction in Poland with a planned length of , which is located in the Silesian and Lesser Poland voivodeships. Upon completion, it will connect the A1 motorway near the Katowice International Airport in Pyrzowice, with the A4 motorway and the border of Slovakia in Zwardoń, where it will connect to the D3 Motorway. A major part of the route is the Eastern beltway of Upper Silesian Industrial Region. The route is expected to be completed by 2024. A dual carriageway ( BE) or divided highway ( AE) is a class of highway with carriageways for traffic travelling in opposite directions separated by a central reservation (BrE) or median (AmE). Voivodeship
A voivodeship is the area administered by a voivode (Governor) in several countries of central and eastern Europe. Voivodeships have existed since medieval times and the area of extent of voivodeship resembles that of a duchy in western medieval states, much as the title of voivode was equivalent to that of a duke.
