National Secondary Route 147, or just Route 147 ( es, Ruta Nacional Secundaria 147, or ) is a National Road Route of Costa Rica, located in the San José, Alajuela provinces. It is locally known as either Radial Lindora, Radial San Antonio or Radial Santa Ana. Alajuela Province
Alajuela () is a province of Costa Rica. It is located in the north-central part of the country, bordering Nicaragua to the north. It also borders the provinces of Heredia to the east, San José to the south, Puntarenas to the southwest and Guanacaste to the west. As of 2011, the province had a population of 885,571. National Road Network Of Costa Rica
National Road Network of Costa Rica ( es, Red Vial Nacional), are a series of numbered road routes that are managed through Costa Rica by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) and its subagency the National Road Council (Conavi). According to the Inter-American Development Bank, in 2019 Costa Rica had the worst road network in Latin America, due to being under maintained, and having structural defects and deterioration in around 49% of the National Primary Routes network. Other countries in the area report an average of 20% in the same metric. There are no high speed express routes but there are some two-lane trunk roads. Potholes are common in primary road routes. Many of the secondary or tertiary road routes are made of gravel or dirt. Alajuela is a canton in the Alajuela province of Costa Rica. Its head city is the provincial capital city of Alajuela. History Alajuela was created on 7 December 1848 by decree 167. Geography Alajuela has an area of km² and a mean elevation of metres. Northward from the city of Alajuela, the canton continues along the border with the province of Heredia to its east, encompassing a strip of the Cordillera Central (Central Mountain Range) between Poas Volcano and Barva Volcano. Santa Ana is the ninth canton in the San José province of Costa Rica. It is located in the Central Valley. The canton borders the Alajuela canton to the north, the Mora canton to the south and west, the Escazú canton to the east, as well as the Belén canton to the north east. The canton has the highest Human Development Index of any canton in Costa Rica as of 2021 with a HDI of 0.935. Toponymy The first mention of the name appears in the Protocols of Cartago on December 1, 1658, when part of the land which now conforms the canton became property of José de Alvarado and Petronilla de Retes after their marriage. The name of the lands comes from the original owner of the lands, Jerónimo de Retes y López de Ortega, father of Petronilla.
