National Kendo Federation Of Armenia
The National Kendo Federation of Armenia ( hy, Հայաստանի ազգային քենդո ֆեդերացիա) is the regulating body of kendo in Armenia, governed by the Armenian Olympic Committee. The headquarters of the federation is located in Yerevan. About Armenian kendo athletes participate in various international kendo championships, the Federation also hosts national level competitions. In October 2018, the Kendo Federation took part in a Martial Arts Festival organized by the embassy of Japan in Yerevan. In August 2019, the Federation participated in the 8th International Kendo Seminar, held in Tbilisi. Kendo
is a modern Japanese martial art, descended from kenjutsu (one of the old Japanese martial arts, swordsmanship), that uses bamboo swords (shinai) as well as protective armor (bōgu). Today, it is widely practiced within Japan and has spread to many other nations across the world. History Swordsmen in Japan established schools of '' kenjutsu'' (the ancestor of kendo). A wide array of sports are played in Armenia. Popular sports in Armenia include football, basketball, volleyball, and ice hockey.
