National Highway 169 (India)
National Highway 169 (NH 169) is a National Highway in India. The national highway number 169 was previously part of old National highway 13 connecting Mangaluru ( Mangalore ) in the state of Karnataka with Solapur in the state of Maharashtra. After rationalisation of highway numbers by Government of India published on 5 March 2010. This number has been assigned to national highway starting from Mangalooru to Shivamogga (Shimoga) going via Gurupura, Kaikamba, Yedapadavu, Moodabidri, Karkala, Bajagoli (Bajegoli), SK border, Kerekatte, Sringeri, Koppa and Thirthahalli. This road provides connectivity between Karavali (Coastal) region through Malenadu region of Karnataka state in India. This road is narrow at some stretches when passing through Kudremukha National Park forest area. The National Highway 169A joins this highway at Thirthahalli. Shivamogga
Shimoga, officially known as Shivamogga, is a city and the district headquarters of Shimoga district in the central part of the state of Karnataka, India. The city lies on the banks of the Tunga River. Being the gateway for the hilly region of the Western Ghats, the city is popularly nicknamed the "Gateway of Malnad". The population of Shimoga city is 322,650 as per 2011 census. Kaikamba also known as Gurupura Kaikamba is a suburban town of Mangalore, Dakshina Kannada District, Karnataka State, west coast of India. Ghat Roads are access routes into the mountainous Western and Eastern Ghats, mountain ranges of the Indian subcontinent. National Highway 275(NH 275), commonly referred to as Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway, is a 10 lane tolled expressway that has 6 lane elevated dual carriageway with 4 lane service road that connects Bantwal town with Bengaluru through Mysuru and Madikeri in Karnataka, India. National Highway 66, commonly referred to as NH 66 (erstwhile NH-17 and a part of NH-47), is a mostly 4 lane long busy National Highway that runs roughly north–south along the western coast of India, parallel to the Western Ghats. It connects Panvel (a city south of Mumbai) to Cape Comorin (Kanyakumari), passing through the states of Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The highway is undergoing a major overhaul in Karnataka, where the state government has accepted the NHAI's request of international standard, 60-metre-wide national highway with grade separators. The complete stretch from the Goa border (near Karwar) to the Kerala border (near Talapady) is being widened to four lanes, with space to accommodate future expansion to six lanes. National Highway 169A (NH 169A) is a National Highway in India, which comes under Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India. The highway starts from Malpe harbour in Udupi and ends at Thirthahalli.its old name was NH 766E. Though classified as national highway the width of this road is very less at many stretches. The stretches where road width is very less are Malpe to Karavali By-pass , Manipal to Perdoor and Someshwara to Agumbe where only mini buses and mini lorry are allowed. The NH-169A ascends Agumbe ghat section of Western ghats of India (Bharat). Currently, Malpe to Hebri stretch is being widened to 4-Lane National Highway.
