National Highway 275(NH 275), commonly referred to as Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway, is a 10 lane tolled expressway that has 6 lane elevated dual carriageway with 4 lane service road that connects Bantwal town with Bengaluru through Mysuru and Madikeri in Karnataka, India. This national highway was earlier state highway connecting coastal city of Mangaluru to Mysuru city through Madikeri town before announcement as NH-275. It is one of the important highways in Karnataka and India. Heritage Metropolis Mysuru and misty town Madikeri come along this highway. It is expected to reduce travel time from the current 3 hours to 90 minutes. Madikeri is a hill station town in Madikeri taluk and headquarters of Kodagu district in Karnataka, India. Etymology Madikeri was known as ''Muddu Raja Keri'', which meant Mudduraja's town, was named after the prominent Haleri king Mudduraja who ruled Kodagu from 1633 to 1687. From 1834, during the British Raj, it was called ''Mercara''. It was later renamed to Madikeri by the Government of Mysore. History The history of Madikeri is related to the history of Kodagu.
