''Natalia de 8 a 9'' is a Venezuelan telenovela written by José Ignacio Cabrujas and produced by RCTV in 1980. The telenovela was success during its broadcast due to its realistic portrayal of an everyday Venezuelan couple and a break from the common ''telenovela rosa'' format used in many telenovelas at the time. Marina Baura and Gustavo Rodríguez starred as the main protagonists. Plot Natalia and Juan Carlos are a married couple whose life has been reduced to routine and the hectic pace of life, and they only get to spend time with each other every from 8 to 9 in the morning in between breakfast. Natalia struggles to hold on to her crumbling marriage while Juan Carlos surrenders to the possibility of a new love with Mariana, a young beautiful student at the college where he teaches. A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). José Ignacio Cabrujas
José Ignacio Cabrujas Lofiego (July 17, 1937 – October 21, 1995 in Porlamar, Margarita Island) was a Venezuelan playwright, theater director, chronicler, soap opera writer, drama librettist, screenplay writer, radio moderator, humanist and political campaigns designer. He is considered one of the founders and innovators of the modern telenovela genre in Latin America, and is called the "Maestro de las Telenovelas." Early years José Ignacio Cabrujas spent his childhood in the Caracas neighborhood of Catia. His parents were José Ramón Cabruja Esteso and Matilde Lofiego of Cabruja. His original name is "Cabruja" so he was changed when the a story emerged during his tenure in the Teatro Universitario (TU). The confusion arises from the renowned journalist Lorenzo Batallán, who published a note on the Cabrujas' performance at TU, adding an "S". Marina Baura (born November 1, 1941) is a former Venezuelan telenovela actress. Early life Born as Julia Pérez in Galicia, Spain, she moved with her parents and brother Jesús to Venezuela when she was 15 years old, in 1956. She started her professional career in the early 1960s as a model in '' El Show de Renny'', a popular variety show hosted by Renny Ottolina and aired on Radio Caracas Televisión. She later studied dramatic art under the direction of Paul Antillano, and made her debut in the Venevisión TV-series ''Casos y cosas de casa''. Radio Caracas Televisión (RCTV) was a Venezuelan free-to-air television network headquartered in the Caracas neighborhood of Quinta Crespo. It was sometimes referred to as the Canal de Bárcenas. Carlos Olivier
Carlos Olivier (''Carlos Raúl Fernández Olivier'') (26 January 195222 January 2007), was a Venezuelan actor, famous for his roles in telenovelas, including ''Leonela'', ''El País de las Mujeres'', ''Viva la Pepa'', '' Las González'', ''Engañada'', and ''Los Querendones''. Olivier was a member of the Factory of Young Actors of RCTV.
