Nasser Saidi
Dr. Nasser Saidi is a Lebanese politician and economist who served as the Minister of Economy and Industry and the Vice Governor for the Lebanese central banks for several terms in the last decade of the 20th century. He is currently the Founder and President of Nasser Saidi & Associates. Early career Saidi started his career as a Professor, teaching Economics at the University of Chicago (1977-1980) and after, at the University of Geneva in Switzerland (1980-1985). He then joined the International Center for Monetary and Banking studies as an Associate and Lecturer in Geneva, Switzerland. He then became President of an Economic Advisory company called N.Saidi in London, UK from 1985-1992. Lebanese Nationality Law
Lebanese nationality law governs the acquisition, transmission and loss of Lebanese citizenship. Lebanese citizenship is the status of being a citizen of Lebanon and it can be obtained by birth or naturalisation. Lebanese nationality is transmitted by paternity (father) (see Jus sanguinis). Therefore, a Lebanese man who holds Lebanese citizenship can automatically confer citizenship to his children and foreign wife (only if entered in the Civil Acts Register in the Republic of Lebanon). Under the current law, descendants of Lebanese emigrants can only receive citizenship from their father and women cannot pass on citizenship to their children or foreign spouses. Kofi Atta Annan (; 8 April 193818 August 2018) was a Ghanaian diplomat who served as the seventh secretary-general of the United Nations from 1997 to 2006. Annan and the UN were the co-recipients of the 2001 Nobel Peace Prize. He was the founder and chairman of the Kofi Annan Foundation, as well as chairman of The Elders, an international organisation founded by Nelson Mandela. Banque du Liban (BdL, ar, مصرف لبنان, English: Bank of Lebanon) is the central bank of Lebanon. It was established on August 1, 1963, and became fully operational on April 1, 1964. It is currently headed by Riad Salameh. One of the main responsibilities of the bank is issuing Lebanon's currency, the Lebanese Pound. Other responsibilities include maintaining monetary stability, regulation of money transfers, and maintaining the soundness of the banking sector.
