Taiwan Strait
The Taiwan Strait is a -wide strait separating the island of Taiwan and continental Asia. The strait is part of the South China Sea and connects to the East China Sea to the north. The narrowest part is wide. The Taiwan Strait is itself a subject of international dispute over its political status. As the People's Republic of China claims to enjoy "sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction over the Taiwan Strait" and regards the waterway as " internal territorial waters" instead of being international waters, this means that the Chinese government denies any foreign vessel having the freedom of navigation in the strait. Taoyuan City
Taoyuan () is a special municipality (Taiwan), special municipality of the Taiwan, Republic of China (Taiwan) located in northwestern Taiwan, neighboring New Taipei City to the north-east, Yilan County, Taiwan, Yilan County to the south-east, and Hsinchu County to the south-west. Dayuan District
Dayuan District (), formerly known as Dayuan Township () is a coastal district in northwestern Taoyuan City, Taiwan. History Dayuan District was originally named ''Toa-khu-hng'' (), literally means a vast (大) vegetable garden (坵園) as an old Chinese name). In the earlier days, cottage scattered around the district with very limited settlers that grows vegetable and sweet potatoes. Hoklo people migrated to the area during the rule of Kangxi. In avoidance of the invasion of Yue people, walled villages were built around the settlements of Hoklo people. It was renamed during Japanese rule, and was part of Tōen District, Shinchiku Prefecture. After the handover of Taiwan from Japan to the Republic of China, it was called Dayuan Township. Nangan Township () is a rural township in the Matsu Islands and the county seat of Lienchiang County, Fujian. There is an airport in Nangan. The highest point is Yuntai Mountain, at above sea level. Name Nangan Township is named for Nangan Island (Nankan Island), the main island in the township. Nangan was also known Nangantang (; Nàng-găng-dòng).
