This is a list of the monarchs of Burma (Myanmar), covering the monarchs of all the major kingdoms that existed in the present day Burma (Myanmar). Although Burmese chronicles, Burmese chronicle tradition maintains that various monarchies of Burma (Mon people, Mon, Bamar people, Burman, Rakhine people, Arakanese), began in the 9th century Common Era, BCE, historically verified data date back only to 1044 CE at the accession of Anawrahta of Pagan dynasty, Pagan. The farther away the data are from 1044, the less verifiable they are. Nokeo Koumane
Keo Koumane, or Nu Muang Kaeva Kumara, Nokeo Koumane was born No Muong (Phragna Nakorn-Noi No Muang Keo Koumane) (1571–1596) was King of Lan Xang reigning from 1571 till 1572 and from 1591 till 1596. He was the son of King Sai Setthathirath I by his wife, "Kaew Pra Kham" a daughter of King Sen Soulintha. In 1571, upon the death of his father, he was proclaimed King and reigned under the regency of his maternal grandfather, Sen Soulintha. In 1572, he was deposed by him. In 1575, was taken prisoner by the Burmese and sent to Burma. Maung Saw Pru
Raja Maung Saw Pru ( my, မောင်စောဖြူ, also spelt Mong Saw Pru) was a son of King Nanda Bayin and grandson of Bayinnaung. He was the 1st Governor of the Bohmong Circle (modern-day Bandarban District) from 1599 to 1631 appointed by Arakan king Min Razagyi during the Toungoo dynasty. Biography Maung Saw Pru is the first ruler of Bohmong Htaung who was the son of King Nanda Bayin of Pegu and grandson of Bayinnaung. Role In 1599, Min Razagyi, the King of Arakan led to the capitulation of Hanthawaddy Kingdom. Nanda Bayin, the King of Pegu was defeated and perished in the war. Daughter of Nanda Bayin, Princess Thien Daw Hnaung and minor Prince Maung Saw Prue were taken into Mrauk U Kingdom, the capital of Arakan, as captive along with other booties. Mingyi Swa
Mingyi Swa ( my, မင်းကြီးစွာ, or ; 27 November 1558 – ) was List of heirs to the Burmese thrones, heir apparent of Burma from 1581 to 1593. The eldest son of King Nanda Bayin, Nanda of the Toungoo dynasty, Toungoo Dynasty led Burmese–Siamese War (1584–93), three out of the five Burmese invasions of Siam between 1584 and 1593, all of which ended in complete failure. He died in action during the fifth invasion in 1593. In prevailing History of Thailand, Thai history, he was killed in single combat by King Naresuan. However no other accounts, including the earliest Siamese records and European accounts, mention a formal duel between the two. The Burmese chronicles say Swa was felled by a Siamese mortar round.
