Maria Cuomo (born 9 May 1946), best known as Nancy Cuomo, is an Italian singer and producer. Life and career Born in Piedimonte d'Alife (now called Piedimonte Matese), in the Province of Caserta, Campania, Cuomo started performing in a beat band, mainly active in local festivals and in music halls of Caserta.Enzo Giannelli. Manuel De Sica
Manuel De Sica (24 February 1949 – 5 December 2014) was an Italian composer. Born in Rome, the son of Vittorio De Sica and María Mercader, De Sica enrolled at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, in which he studied with Bruno Maderna. He debuted as a composer for his father's film ''A Place for Lovers'' (1968). In 1993, De Sica won the Nastro d'Argento for Best Score for Carlo Verdone's '' Al lupo, al lupo''. In 1996 he won the David di Donatello for Best Score for Carlo Lizzani's '' Celluloide''. In 2005 he was honored with the title of Commendatore of the Italian Republic. De Sica died of a heart attack on 5 December 2014 at the age of 65, in Rome. Piedimonte Matese () is a (municipality) in the Province of Caserta in the Italy, Italian region of Campania, located about 82 km north of Naples and about 40 km north of Caserta. Nico Fidenco (artistic name Domenico Colarossi; 24 January 1933 – 19 November 2022) was an Italian singer and film soundtrack composer who gained considerable popularity in 1960 with the release of the song "What a Sky" (Italian: "''Su nel cielo''"), taken from the film ''Silver Spoon Set'' by Francesco Maselli. Self-taught in music, Fidenco did a few cover versions of film title songs for the Italian market. Fonit Cetra was an Italian record label, active between 1957 and 2000. History Fonit Cetra was founded in 1957 from merging two already existing labels: Cetra (acronym from Compagnia per edizioni, teatro, registrazioni ed affini), owned by RAI and previously EIAR, and (acronym from Fonodisco Italiano Trevisan), founded in 1911 in Milan. Both labels had already been popular, thanks to such artists as Nilla Pizzi, Achille Togliani, Natalino Otto and Domenico Modugno. Fonit Cetra continued to use two old names on their records and maintained two different offices, in Turin and Milan, until the 1970s, when the main headquarters were relocated to Milan. Cantagiro was an Italian summer song contest held from 1962 to 1972 and 1990 to 1993. It featured three categories, A for famous artists, B for newcomers and C for groups. The creator of the competition was Ezio Radaelli. The name of the festival was a reference to the bicycle race Giro d'Italia, and, as the Giro, Cantagiro was organized as a stage race consisting of eleven or twelve daily stages, each set in a different city. A peculiar characteristic of the festival was that, while traveling between one stage and the other, singers were required to travel in an open car, to be at the disposal of the crowd of fans, otherwise risking fines or disqualification from the competition; accordingly the travel usually resolved into a huge crowd, with fans waiting their idols in every corner of the path.
