Nana Asaase
Philip Boakye Dua Oyinka, popularly known as Nana Asaase is a poet, literary coach and writer. He is also a member of the National Folklore Board. He was born on 12 December and comes from Koforidua in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Nana Asaase, a name which means "King of the Earth" in the Akan dialect Twi, was conferred on him by his grandmother. He blends English with Twi. Koforidua
Koforidua, also popularly known as K-dua or Kofcity, is a city and the capital of Eastern Region in southern Ghana. Koforidua was founded in 1875 by migrants from Ashanti. It is also called New Juaben. The city has a settlement city proper population of 183,727 people as of 2010, Koforidua is an amalgamation of two Municipalities; New Juaben North and South. The Eastern Region is located in south Ghana and is one of the sixteen administrative regions of Ghana. Akan Language
Akan () is a Central Tano language and the principal native language of the Akan people of Ghana, spoken over much of the southern half of Ghana. About 80% of Ghana's population can speak Akan, and about 44% of Ghanaians are native speakers. It is also spoken in parts of Côte d'Ivoire. Four dialects have been developed as literary standards with distinct orthographies: Asante, Akuapem, Bono (collectively known as Twi), and Fante; which, despite being mutually intelligible, were inaccessible in written form to speakers of the other standards until the Akan Orthography Committee (AOC)'s development of a common Akan orthography in 1978, based mainly on Akuapem Twi. Cape Coast
Cape Coast is a city, fishing port, and the capital of Cape Coast Metropolitan District and Central Region of Ghana.
