Namibia competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Tomas Hilifa Rainhold (actually Reinhardt Thomas, born 7 February 1991), is a Namibian long-distance runner. He competed in the men's marathon at the 2019 World Athletics Championships held in Doha, Qatar. He finished in 17th place. In 2018, he competed in the men's half marathon at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships held in Valencia, Spain. He finished in 111th place. In 2021, he competed at the Xiamen Marathon and Tuscany Camp Global Elite Race in Siena, Italy. He finished 28th in 2:10:24, a personal best. This performance qualified him for the men's marathon at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Dan Craven
Dan Craven (born 1 February 1983) is a Namibian racing cyclist, who last rode for Namibian amateur team NCCS Cycling Team. He is the grandson of Danie Craven, the South African rugby union icon. Craven started cycling seriously when he studied at Stellenbosch University. After graduating with a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics he moved to Switzerland in 2005 in order to pursue a cycling career. A strong time trialist, Craven was a runner up in the 2006 African Championships, and boasts a 7th place in the time trial at the 2007 B World Championships in Cape Town. Craven joined the team for the 2009 season. Harry Garside
Harrison Garside (born 22 July 1997) is an Australian boxer. He competed in the men's lightweight event at the 2020 Summer Olympics where he won the bronze medal. This marked the first time in more than three decades that an Australian medaled in boxing at the Olympics. In 2015, Garside won his first of six Australian National Championships. The men's lightweight boxing event at the 2020 Summer Olympics is scheduled to take place between 25 July and 8 August 2021 at the Ryōgoku Kokugikan. 29 boxers from 29 nations are expected to compete. Diamniadio is a town in Senegal. History Diamniadio is a part of the collective development program of the government of Senegal under the leadership of President Macky Sall to revitalize Senegal's economy. The development of the new city is taking place around 30 km from Dakar, close to the Blaise Diagne International Airport, which opened in December 2017. The Diamniadio Lake City is one of its suburbs. The idea behind the development is to ease the population pressure on Dakar. Athletics At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's Marathon
The women's marathon event at the 2020 Summer Olympics started at 06:00 on 7 August 2021 in Sapporo. Peres Jepchirchir of Kenya won gold in 2:27:20 followed by world record holder and Kenyan teammate Brigid Kosgei with silver, and American Molly Seidel winning the bronze medal in her third-ever marathon. The race was moved north, from Tokyo to Sapporo because the latter is on average cooler in August, as decided in 2019 by the IOC.
