Namco Arcade (iOS)
is a discontinued compilation of classic arcade video games, and was made for iOS and Android by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Namco Arcade was discontinued and removed from both the App Store and Google Play marketplaces on March 15, 2016. Purchased games prior to the shut down of the store can still be played. Overview ''Namco Arcade'' is a compilation of Namco's classic arcade games. A choice of game is playable, free of charge, once every day. Virtual "Play Coins" could be purchased for additional plays, or games could be purchased permanently until the ability to make in-app purchases were removed on February 16, 2016. Players could access a virtual store, which contained Play Coins, "arcade machines", and cheat toggles. Purchasing a game's "arcade machine" removes the Play Coin requirement for that title for unlimited play. is a Japanese multinational video game publisher headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo. Xevious
is a vertically scrolling shooter video game developed and published by Namco for arcades in 1982. It was released in Japan and Europe by Namco and in North America by Atari, Inc. Controlling the Solvalou starship, the player attacks Xevious forces before they destroy all of mankind. The Solvalou has two weapons at its disposal: a ''zapper'' to destroy flying craft, and a ''blaster'' to bomb ground installations and enemies. It runs on the Namco Galaga arcade system. The game was designed by Masanobu Endō and a small team. Created to rival the success of ''Scramble'', it was originally themed around the Vietnam War and titled ''Cheyenne''. Dragon Buster
is a platform, action role-playing dungeon crawl game developed by Namco and released in 1984. It runs on Namco Pac-Land hardware, modified to support vertical scrolling. In Japan, the game was ported to the Family Computer (Famicom), MSX, and X68000; the latter version was later released for the Virtual Console in the same region on November 18, 2008. ''Dragon Buster'' has been ported for the PSP and is available as part of ''Namco Museum Battle Collection''. is a 1991 3D rail shooter arcade game developed and published by Namco. Controlling the starfighter FX-01 "GeoSword" from a first-person perspective, the player is tasked with eliminating the Unknown Intelligent Mechanized Species (UIMS) before they wipe out Earth. Gameplay involves controlling a crosshair with a flight yoke stick and destroying enemies and their projectiles before they inflict damage on the player. Galaga
is a 1981 fixed shooter arcade video game developed and published by Namco. In North America, it was released by Midway Manufacturing. It is the sequel to ''Galaxian'' (1979), Namco's first major video game hit in arcades. Controlling a starship, the player is tasked with destroying the Galaga forces in each stage while avoiding enemies and projectiles. Some enemies can capture a player's ship via a tractor beam, which can be rescued to transform the player into a "dual fighter" with additional firepower. Shigeru Yokoyama led development with a small team. Initial planning took about two months to finish. Originally developed for the Namco Galaxian arcade board, it was instead shifted to a new system as suggested by Namco's Research and Development division.
