Nagmeldin Ali Abubakr
Nagmeldin Ali Abubakr (born February 22, 1986) is a Sudanese athlete who mainly competes in the 400 metres. He was born in Khartoum. His current personal best time is 44.93 seconds, achieved in April 2005 in Mecca. Ali competed in the 400 metres event at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing failing to advance to the semifinals. He lives in Nyala, southern Darfur, and is a sergeant in the Sudanese army. Athletics At The 2004 Pan Arab Games
At the 2004 Pan Arab Games, the athletics events were held at the Stade 5 Juillet 1962 in Algiers, Algeria from 4 to 8 October. A total of 45 events were contested, of which 23 by male and 22 by female athletes. The host country topped the medal table having won a 16 gold medals and 34 medals overall. Second placed Morocco, with seven golds, had the greatest number of medals overall with a total of 35. Tunisia was third with sixteen medals in total, seven of which were gold. Eleven new Games records were set over the course of the five-day competition. The men's 400 metres at the 2004 Summer Olympics as part of the athletics program were held at the Athens Olympic Stadium from August 20 to 23. Sixty-two athletes from 48 nations competed. The event was won by Jeremy Wariner of the United States, the sixth in what would ultimately be 7 consecutive American victories stretching from 1984 to 2008 and the 18th overall title in the event by the United States.
