Naas (Parliament Of Ireland Constituency)
Naas was a constituency represented in the Irish House of Commons to 1801. The Parliament of Ireland merged with the Parliament of Great Britain to form the Parliament of the United Kingdom on 1 January 1801. Thereafter Naas was represented by the Members for Kildare. Francis Spring (Irish MP)
Francis Spring (circa 1660 – 1711) was an Anglo-Irish politician. Spring was the great-grandson of Thomas Spring of Castlemaine. In 1699 he was a Commissioner for the collection of taxation in County Kildare. He represented Naas as a Member of Parliament in the Irish House of Commons between 1703 and his death in 1711.E. M. George Damer, 2nd Earl Of Dorchester
George Damer, 2nd Earl of Dorchester, PC, PC (Ire) (28 March 1746 – 7 March 1808), styled Viscount Milton between 1792 and 1798, was a British politician. He served as Chief Secretary for Ireland between 1794 and 1795. Background Dorchester was the second son of Joseph Damer, 1st Earl of Dorchester. He was educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge, where he took his MA in 1767. Sir James Bond, 1st Baronet
Sir James Bond, 1st Baronet (11 June 1744 – 2 June 1820) was an Irish Member of Parliament of Anglo-Irish descent. He was the son of the Rev. James Bond (died 1762), a minister at Corboy in County Longford by his wife Catherine, daughter of the Rev. Thomas Wensley, of Lifford, County Donegal. On 27 July 1770 he was married to Anne Hornby, the daughter William Hornby, who would later serve as Governor of Bombay; they had several children and died on 3 July 1809. John Bourke, 4th Earl of Mayo, GCH, PC (Ire) (; ; 18 June 1766 – 23 May 1849) was an Irish peer and courtier, styled Lord Naas (; ) from 1792 to 1794, who served as Chairman of Committees in the Irish House of Lords until 1801. Career He was the eldest son of Joseph Deane Bourke, 3rd Earl of Mayo (Archbishop of Tuam 1782–94) and his wife, Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Richard Meade, 3rd Baronet. He succeeded to his father's titles on the death of his father on 20 August 1794. Maurice Keating (February 1690 – 17 November 1769) was an Irish politician. Keating first stood for Kildare Borough in 1715, but was declared "not duly elected" and the seat was taken by Richard Warren. Richard Burgh (; ; 1725 – September 1762) was an Irish barrister and politician who was MP for Naas (1759–1762). Biography Burgh was the son of the military engineer and architect Colonel Thomas Burgh MP and his wife, Mary Smyth. He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin. He trained in law and worked as a barrister of Drumkeen, County Limerick. In 1759, he succeeded his older brother, Thomas, as Member of Parliament for Naas in the Irish House of Commons, sitting until 1762.E. M.
