The National Incident Management System (NIMS) is a standardized approach to incident management developed by the United States Department of Homeland Security. The program was established in March 2004, in response to Homeland Security Presidential Directive-5, issued by President George W. Bush. It is intended to facilitate coordination between all responders (including all levels of government with public, private, and nongovernmental organizations). The system has been revised once, in December 2008. NIMS is the common framework that integrates a wide range of capabilities to help achieve objectives. is an Independent Administrative Institution and one of the largest scientific research centers in Japan. History The growth and development of today's scientific research center has passed through several phases in a number of locations: In 1956, the National Research Institute for Metals (NRIM) was established in Meguro, Tokyo, Japan. In 1979, NRIM opened an office in Tsukuba. By 1995 the institute had moved most of its functions to that location. The Nims is a , lefthand arm of the River Prüm in the South Eifel region of the Eifel Mountains. It runs through the county of Bitburg-Prüm in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Arthur L. Nims III (January 3, 1923 – September 15, 2019) was an American federal judge who served on the United States Tax Court. Biography Nims was born in Oklahoma in 1923. After attending public schools in Macon, Georgia, and then Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Massachusetts, Nims earned a B.A., Williams College, and LL.B. at the University of Georgia Law School, and am LL.M. in Taxation at the New York University Law School. His legal pursuits were interrupted by his service as an officer, Lieutenant (jg.), U.S. Naval Reserve, on active duty in the Pacific Theater during World War II, but he was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1949. John Frederick Nims (November 20, 1913 in Muskegon, Michigan – January 13, 1999, aged 85, in Chicago, Illinois) was an American poet and academic. Life He graduated from DePaul University, University of Notre Dame with an M.A., and from the University of Chicago with a Ph.D. in 1945. He published reviews of the works by Robert Lowell and W. S.
