München-Laim Marshalling Yard
Munich-Laim station is a station on the trunk line of the Munich S-Bahn between Munich Central Station (german: Hauptbahnhof) and München-Pasing station. It is part of a large rail precinct, including Munich Laim marshalling yard. It has three platform tracks and is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 3 station. History South of the marshalling yard, the Laim passenger station was built above the new Laim subway. On 30 August 1894, the station was opened as the temporary terminus of the double-track suburban railway, which connected the Central Station with Laim parallel to the long-distance railway tracks. On 1 May 1895, the extension of the suburban railway to Pasing station went into operation. Trunk Line 2 (german: Zweite Stammstrecke, translation=Second Trunk Line) is an under-construction double track commuter rail tunnel in the Bavarian capital of Munich, Germany. Background Nearly all lines of the Munich S-Bahn use the Stammstrecke through the city centre in the underground, creating a bottle-neck responsible for long and increasingly frequent delays from even the smallest disruptions. The route has been upgraded to its limits to enable shorter headways including by implementing the Spanish solution at busy stations, automatically opening all doors as soon as the train stops (as opposed to the more usual opening of train doors only when a button is pushed) and upgrading signaling. Deisenhofen Station
Deisenhofen is a Munich S-Bahn railway station in Deisenhofen, a district of Oberhaching. History Deisenhofen station was opened in 1862 on the Munich–Holzkirchen section of the Bavarian Maximilian Railway. Since 10 October 1898 there has also been a connection to Munich East station, the Munich East–Deisenhofen railway. Since 1972, the station has been integrated in the network of the Munich S-Bahn. In 2004 the station was made fully accessible. The platforms were raised and modernised and the station building was renovated. New park-and-ride and bicycle storage facilities were built near the station. The bus stop in the station forecourt was also modernised, with a new turning circle for buses built on the forecourt. Munich Hirschgarten is a Munich S-Bahn railway station on the main line between Laim and Donnersbergerbrücke railway stations at Friedenheimer Brücke. Munich-Moosach station is a station in the Moosach district of Munich, the capital of the German state of Bavaria. It consists of an above-ground station for regional and Munich S-Bahn services and an underground station for the Munich U-Bahn. It runs from Mammendorf station to Holzkirchen station via Pasing, central Munich, Munich East, Giesing and Deisenhofen. Dachau Station
Dachau station (german: Dachau Bahnhof) is a station in the Bavarian town of Dachau on the Munich S-Bahn network. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 3 station and it has five platform tracks. It is served daily by about 190 trains operated by Deutsche Bahn, including 150 S-Bahn trains.
