Murru Prison
Murru Prison ( et, Murru vangla) was an Estonian prison. It was located in Rummu, Harju County. The prison was established in 1938. Until 1970s, at the prison there operated stone industry. Industry's workers were mainly prisoners. In 1961, part of Murru prison was changed to an autonomous prison called Rummu Prison. Rummu Prison existed until 2000. 2011 Harku Prison was merged to Murru Prison (Harku and Murru Prison). 2016 Harku and Murru Prison was merged to Tallinn Prison. Prisoners were transported to Tallinn, Tartu and Viru Prison Viru Prison ( et, Viru Vangla) is a regional prison in Jõhvi, Estonia. Rummu is a small borough ( et, alevik) in Lääne-Harju Parish, Harju County, northern Estonia. Tartu Prison
Tartu prison (Estonian: ''Tartu vangla'') is a prison located in the Ropka industrial district suburb of Tartu in Estonia. The prison was designed by architect Kalle Glad, EstKONSULT and constructed by Skanska EMV. The prison was founded in 2000 with the first inmates arriving on 16 October 2002. The prison's total cost was €423 million, of which €365.8 million was construction costs. The total area is 93,763 m2. Construction began after Parliament approved a €13,500,000 loan from Nordic Investment Bank. In 2007, a drug-free center was opened in the prison. That same year the prison received an award from the World Health Organisation for its HIV-themed project.
