Tallinn Prison
Tallinn Prison ( et, Tallinna vangla) is an Estonian prison, which is located at Soodevahe, Rae Parish, Harju County. Previously the prison was located at Magasini Street, Tallinn. The history of Tallinn Prison began in 1919 when Patarei Sea Fortress was transformed into a prison (Patarei Prison). In 2000, Patarei Prison became obsolete. Patarei Prison as an institution was moved to a facility on Magasini Street. In 2004, Maardu Prison was merged with Tallinn Prison. In 2016 Harku Prison Harku Prison ( et, Harku vangla) was an Estonian prison. The prison was located in Harku, Harju County. The prison was established in 1926. 1965 the prison was adapted to women's prison. 2011 Harku Prison was merged to Murru Prison. 2016 Ha ... was merged with Tallinn Prison. Rae Parish ( et, Rae vald) is a rural municipality in northern Estonia. It is a part of Harju County. The municipality has a population of 17,967 (as of 1 January 2018) and covers an area of 206.7 km². The population density is . Harju County
Harju County ( et, Harju maakond or ''Harjumaa''), is one of the fifteen counties of Estonia. Patarei Sea Fortress
Patarei Prison (Estonian: ''Patarei vangla''), also known as Patarei Sea Fortress and Tallinn Central Prison (''Tallinna Keskvangla''), commonly known as The Battery (''Patarei''), is a building complex in Kalamaja district of Tallinn, Estonia. The premises cover approximately four hectares of a former sea fortress and prison, located on the shore of Tallinn Bay. The fort was built from 1830–1837 as part of the fortifications for the tsarist Russian state. The building order was given by emperor Nicholas I. In 1864, Tallinn was removed from Russian Empire’s list of fortresses due to Russia’s defeat in the Crimean War, and the fort was converted into barracks. The Republic of Estonia, which declared independence in 1918, reconstructed it as a prison after World War I. In 1919, the fort's main function became a prison, lasting until 2005. Maardu Prison
Maardu (german: Maart) is a town and a municipality in Harju County, Estonia. It is part of Tallinn metropolitan area. The town covers an area of 22.76 km² and has a population of 16,170 (as of 1 January 2021). The Port of Muuga, the largest cargo port in Estonia, is partly located in Maardu. According to the 2000 Census, the population was 16,738. 61.7% were Russians, 19.9% Estonians, 6.6% Ukrainians, 5.7% Belarusians, 1.5% Tatars, 0.9% Finns, 0.6% Poles, 0.5% Lithuanians, 0.2% Latvians, 0.2% Germans and 0.1% Jews and 1 Cuban.
