Murder Of Lisa Hession
The murder of Lisa Jane Hession (12 April 1970 – 8 December 1984) is a notorious British unsolved murder which involved a sexually-motivated attack on a 14-year-old schoolgirl in Leigh, Greater Manchester, while she walked home from a party shortly before Christmas. On the evening 8 December 1984, Lisa Hession was found strangled to death in an alleyway only 200 yards from her home, with the murder occurring after a spate of sex attacks on women and girls in the area. Despite a reconstruction and appeal on '' Crimewatch'' in 2005 and the subsequent isolation of a partial profile of the killer's DNA, the murderer has not been apprehended. The DNA developments led to local swabbing of men taking place in 2011 and increased hopes that the killer could be caught, with Greater Manchester Police stating that only the naming of an individual by the public to be DNA tested was needed to solve the case. Leigh is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan, Greater Manchester, England, on low-lying land northwest of Chat Moss. Peter Tobin
Peter Britton Tobin (27 August 1946 – 8 October 2022) was a Scottish convicted serial killer and sex offender who served a whole life order at HM Prison Edinburgh for three murders committed between 1991 and 2006. Police also investigated Tobin over the deaths and disappearances of other young women and girls. Tobin served ten years in prison for the rape, buggery and indecent assault of two girls in 1993, following which he was released in 2004. Three years after his release, he was sentenced to life with a minimum of twenty-one years for the rape and murder of Angelika Kluk in Glasgow in 2006. Colin Pitchfork
Colin Pitchfork (born March 23, 1960) is a British double child-murderer and rapist. He was the first person convicted of rape and murder using DNA profiling after he murdered two girls in neighbouring Leicestershire villages, the first in Narborough, in November 1983, and the second in Enderby in July 1986. He was arrested on 19 September 1987 and was sentenced to life imprisonment on 22 January 1988 after pleading guilty to both murders, with the judge giving him a 30-year minimum term (only for Pitchfork to challenge the minimum term and see it reduced to 28 years on appeal). He was granted parole in June 2021, and was released on licence on 1 September that year. On 19 November the same year, he was recalled to prison for breach of licence conditions.
