Muhammadjan Hindustani
Muhammadjan Hindustani (born in 1892 in Chorbogh, Tajikistan) was an Islamist teacher in Uzbekistan during the Soviet era. He was a teacher of Abduvali qori Mirzayev, who taught Tahir Yuldash and Juma Namangani. Yuldash and Namangani both became leaders of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan. Sayid Abdullah Nuri and Muhammad Sharif Himmatzoda, who were leaders of the Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikistan were also students of Hindustani's. Hindustani was arrested by the Soviets, and he died in prison. During the early 1970s, Hindustani founded a clandestine madrassa in Dushanbe. It was influenced by the ideology of Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna, as well as the Deobandi movement of India. (Deobandi Islam was also an ideological influence for the Taliban movement.) Hindustani considered some of his students "Wahhabist" — Hindustani used the term Wahhabist for anyone who introduces non-traditional interpretations of the Quran. He may denounced Ziyaudin Bobokhon as a ...

Ferghana Valley
The Fergana Valley (; ; ) in Central Asia lies mainly in eastern Uzbekistan, but also extends into southern Kyrgyzstan and northern Tajikistan. Divided into three republics of the former Soviet Union, the valley is ethnically diverse and in the early 21st century was the scene of conflict. A large triangular valley in what is an often dry part of Central Asia, the Fergana owes its fertility to two rivers, the Naryn and the Kara Darya, which run from the east, joining near Namangan, forming the Syr Darya river. The valley's history stretches back over 2,300 years, when Alexander the Great founded Alexandria Eschate at its southwestern end. Chinese chroniclers date its towns to more than 2,100 years ago, as a path between Greek, Chinese, Bactrian and Parthian civilisations. It was home to Babur, founder of the Mughal Dynasty, tying the region to modern Afghanistan and South Asia. The Russian Empire conquered the valley at the end of the 19th century, and it became part of the Sovi ...

Hanafi
The Hanafi school ( ar, حَنَفِية, translit=Ḥanafiyah; also called Hanafite in English), Hanafism, or the Hanafi fiqh, is the oldest and one of the four traditional major Sunni schools ( maddhab) of Islamic Law (Fiqh). It is named after the 8th century Kufan scholar, Abu Hanifa, a Tabi‘i of Persian origin whose legal views were preserved primarily by his two most important disciples, Imam Abu Yusuf and Muhammad al-Shaybani. It is considered one of the most widely accepted maddhab amongst Sunni Muslim community and is called the ''Madhhab of Jurists'' (maddhab ahl al-ray). The importance of this maddhab lies in the fact that it is not just a collection of rulings or sayings of Imam Abu Hanifa alone, but rather the rulings and sayings of the council of judges he established belong to it. It had a great excellence and advantage over the establishment of Sunni Islamic legal science. No one before Abu Hanifa preceded in such works. He was the first to solve the cases an ...
